Abstract
This study discusses Robert Schumann's lieder Fraunliebe und Leben, which includes interpretation and analysis of songs. This composition is in the form of a 'cycle' and consists of eight parts which each part has an attachment in terms of narration/story. Fraunliebe und Leben tells of important moments in the journey of a woman's life ranging from the introduction, courtship, marriage, have children and face the reality of the death of her husband. The text of Fraunliebe und Leben was taken by composer of the poem by Adelbert Von Chamisso around the 1830s. From the analysis of the song, it is known that the composer always pay attention and consider the movement of melody. Intervals and progression of harmony to support the meaning of the text so that the goals and wishes of composers can be achieved
