ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi atribut mengajar yang efektif menurut persepsi mahasiswa akuntansi sebagai masukan bagi Departemen Akuntansi Universitas Indonesia untuk memaksimalkan potensi pencapaian akreditasi AACSB. Penelitian ini juga menguji perbedaan pesepsi mengenai pentingnya atribut mengajar pada mahasiswa departemen akuntansi di dua institusi pendidikan tinggi negeri di Indonesia, yaitu Universitas Indonesia UI dan Universitas Gadjah Mada UGM. Survei dilakukan dengan mendistribusikan kuesioner pada mahasiswa akuntansi UI dan UGM tahun angkatan 2014. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa atribut mengajar dengan rangking tertinggi dalam menunjang pengajaran yang efektif terkait dengan atribut keadilan dan metode penilaian. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara persepsi mahasiswa UI dengan mahasiswa UGM. Mahasiswa UI menilai bahwa atribut keadilan dan metode penilaian secara signifikan lebih tinggi daripada mahasiswa UGM. Sebaliknya, mahasiswa UGM menilai bahwa atribut persiapan kelas, penyampaian kelas, dan karakteristik dosen secara signifikan lebih tinggi daripada mahasiswa UI.
ABSTRACT
This research aims to explore the effective of teaching attributes according to the perception of the accounting students as suggestions for the Department of Accounting, University of Indonesia to maximize the potential achievement of AACSB accreditation. It also examines differences in the perceived importance of these teaching attributes between students of department of accounting in two public higher education institutions in Indonesia, namely University of Indonesia UI and Gadjah Mada University UGM. The survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to accounting students in UI and UGM in the 2014 academic year. The research methodologies used in this study are descriptive statistics and Mann Whitney test. The result shows that the most highly ranked attributes in supporting effective teaching related to fairness and evaluations methods. Significant differences are found between the perception of UI and UGM students. UI students ranked fairness and evaluation methods significantly higher than UGM students. In contrast, UGM students ranked attributes related to class preparation, class delivery, and lecturer 39 s characteristics significantly higher than UI students. |
