 Abstrak

ABSTRAK
Pasien Penyakit Paru Obstruksi Kronis (PPOK) dapat memiliki efikasi diri dan kualitas
hidup yang rendah akibat gejala sesak napas dan batuk. Penggunaan inhaler dengan
benar dapat mengatasi gejala-gejala tersebut. Mayoritas pasien PPOK masih
menggunakan inhaler dengan tidak tepat. Latihan penggunaan inhaler dapat
memperbaiki teknik penggunaan inhaler serta diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efikasi
diri dan kualitas hidup pasien PPOK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui
pengaruh latihan penggunaan inhaler terhadap efikasi diri dan kualitas hidup pasien
PPOK. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi experiment dengan nonequivalent
control group pretest-postest. Tiga puluh enam pasien PPOK dipilih menggunakan
consecutive sampling dan dibagi menjadi kelompok yang mengikuti latihan penggunaan
inhaler dan kelompok yang tidak mengikuti latihan penggunaan inhaler. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan efikasi diri pasien PPOK secara bermakna sebesar
9,33 skor setelah latihan penggunaan inhaler (p=0,001; p<0,05) dan terdapat perbedaan
perubahan efikasi diri secara bermakna sebesar 6 skor dibandingkan pasien PPOK yang
tidak mengikuti latihan penggunaan inhaler (p=0,000; p<0,05). Hasil penelitian juga
menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kualitas hidup pasien PPOK secara bermakna
dengan penurunan skor sebesar 10,355 setelah latihan penggunaan inhaler (p=0,001;
p<0,05) dan terdapat perbedaan perubahan kualitas hidup secara bermakna sebesar 6,55
skor dibandingkan pasien PPOK yang tidak mengikuti latihan penggunaan inhaler
(p=0,000; p<0,05). Terdapat pengaruh latihan penggunaan inhaler terhadap efikasi diri
dan kualitas hidup pasien PPOK sehingga latihan penggunaan inhaler direkomendasikan
kepada perawat untuk diberikan kepada pasien PPOK.
ABSTRACT
Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) can have low selfefficacy
and quality of life due to symptoms of shortness of breath and cough. Proper
use of inhaler is able to overcome these symptoms. The majority of COPD patients are
still using inhaler incorrectly. Inhaler use training can improve technique of inhaler use
and is expected to improve self-efficacy and quality of life in COPD patients. The
purpose of this study was to determine the effect of inhaler use training on self-efficacy
and quality of life in COPD patients. The research design used quasi experiment with
nonequivalent control group pretest-postest. Thirty-six patients with COPD were
selected using consecutive sampling and were divided into groups that followed the
inhaler use training and those who did not follow the inhaler use training. The results
showed that there was a significant improvement on self-efficacy in COPD patients by
9.33 score after the inhaler use training (p=0.001; p<0.05) and there was a significant
difference on self-efficacy change of 6 scores compared to COPD patients who did not
follow the inhaler use training (p=0.000; p<0.05). The results also showed that there
was a significant improvement on the quality of life in COPD patients with a decrease
in the score of 10.355 after the inhaler use training (p=0.001; p<0.05) and there was a
significant difference on the quality of life change of 6.55 scores compared to the
COPD patients who did not follow the inhaler use training (p=0.000; p<0.05). There
was an influence of the inhaler use training on self-efficacy and quality of life in COPD
patients so that the inhaler use training is recommended to the nurses to be given to
COPD patients.
