Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah parenting knowledge dapat memprediksi self-perception of parenting pada ibu baru, yaitu ibu yang baru pertama kali melahirkan anak yang berusia 0-24 bulan. Dalam menjalani masa transisi menjadi orang tua, self-perception of parenting menjadi faktor penting yang harus dimiliki oleh para ibu baru. Ibu dengan self-perception of parenting yang positif cenderung untuk melihat dan menjalani masa transisi menjadi orang tua secara positif. Self-perception of parenting terdiri dari empat skala, yaitu skala kompetensi, kepuasan, investasi, dan integrasi. Karakteristik partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah seorang ibu baru yang berusia minimal 25 tahun dan mengenyam pendidikan minimal D3. Partisipan penelitian adalah 148 ibu baru yang mengisi kuesioner mengenai self-perception of parenting Self-Perceptions of the Parental Role; SPPR dan parenting knowledge Knowledge of Infant Development Inventory; KIDI . Hasil menunjukkan bahwa parenting knowledge tidak signifikan memprediksi keempat skala pada self-perception of parenting pada ibu baru. This study was carried out to examine parenting knowledge as a predictor of self perception of parenting among first time mothers, namely mothers who have given birth to children aged 0 24 months for the first time. In the process of going through a transition to become a parent, self perception of parenting becomes a pivotal factor that is required for first time mothers. Mothers who possess a positive self perception of parenting tend to view and undergo the transition to parenthood period in a positive manner. Self perception of parenting includes four scales, such as competence, satisfaction, investment, and integration. Participant characteristics in this study are first time mothers who are at least 25 years old and had completed at least associates degree. The participants were 148 first time mothers that filled questionnaires about self perception of parenting Self Perceptions of the Parental Role SPPR and parenting knowledge Knowledge of Infant Development Inventory KIDI. The finding indicated that parenting knowledge was not significantly predicted the four scales of self perception of parenting among first time mothers. |
