Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji faktor-faktor spesifik perusahaan yang dapat mempengaruhi keputusan hedging dengan instrumen derivatif valuta asing pada perusahaan di Indonesia. Pengujian dilakukan pada perusahaan non-keuangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia BEI tahun 2016. Data dikumpulkan dari laporan keuangan perusahaan dan Thomson Reuters Datastream yang terdiri dari 82 perusahaan hedgers sebagai sampel penelitian dan diuji melalui regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa leverage, likuiditas, eksposur valas, dan volatilitas mata uang asing memberi pengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan hedging perusahaan melalui penggunaan instrumen derivatif sehingga konsisten dengan teori yang ada. Selain itu, pengujian juga dilakukan secara simultan pada seluruh variabel yang diuji dan menemukan bahwa seluruh variabel secara bersama-sama memberi pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan hedging perusahaan melalui penggunaan instrumen derivatif.
This study aims to determine the influence of firms specific factor through hedging decision using foreign currency derivative instruments in the Indonesian capital market. The test is performed for the constituents of the non financial companies listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange BEI during 2016. Hypotheses regarding the determinants are tested on a sample of 82 hedgers companies using logistic regression. The results are consistent with the concurrence theories as leverage, liquidity, forex exposure, and forex volatility affect significantly for the firms that hedged their exposure using derivative contract. It is also found that all determinants simultaneously affect the firms hedging decision.
