ABSTRAK Salah satu kerajinan khas yang berasal dari Belanda adalah Delfts Blauw. Delfts Blauw sudah ada sejak abad ke-17. Pada umumnya Delfts Blauw berwarna biru dan putih, gambar yang terdapat di tengahnya adalah hal-hal khas Belanda, seperti kincir angin, bunga tulip, tokoh-tokoh khas Belanda, dan klompen. Namun terdapat Delfts Blauw yang mempunyai simbol nanas. Penelitian ini membahas tentang makna dan sejarah buah nanas di Belanda. Tujuannya adalah untuk memaparkan pemaknaan simbol nanas dan mengulik sejarah kemunculan nanas di Eropa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nanas menjadi simbol keramahtamahan, muncul pada material culture Delfts Blauw untuk mengenang masa lalu sewaktu nanas menjadi buah yang paling diidam-idamkan di Eropa. Sejarah nanas yang sangat legendaris masih berpengaruh hingga kini, walaupun sekarang nanas sudah tidak selangka dan semahal seperti zaman dahulu ABSTRACT One of the unique crafts from the Netherlands is the Delfts Blauw. Delfts Blauw has existed since the 17th century. In general, the Delfts Blauw s colors are blue and white, the images in the center are typical Dutch things, such as windmills, tulips, typical Dutch figures, and klompen. But there are Delfts Blauw that have pineapple symbols. This research discusses the meaning and history of pineapple in the Netherlands. The aim is to explain the meaning of the pineapple symbol and to explore the history of the emergence of pineapple in Europe. The results of this study indicate that pineapple is a symbol of hospitality, appearing in Delfts Blauw commemorates the past when pineapple was the most desirable fruit in Europe.
