Abstract
ABSTRAK
This research aim to analyse theme, didactic commendation and value in general of novel I am Hope masterpiece Gayatri Djajengminardo as component of study teaching of art in school. This research is qualitative research done in library FKIP UHN Pematangsiantar. Method applied in this research is descriptive method of Analitis with qualitative form. Data is obtained with read technique repeatedly and record- keeping. Based on result of data analysis in general of novel I am Hope is obtained theme; During there are bravery of hope will be able to be reached while commendation obtained in this novel is; Life is struggle, never give up and is patient in experiencing life. Didactic value gotten in general of novel I am Hope is; religion education value , education value of morale, social education value and liberal education value. General of Novel I am Hope has relevansi with study teaching material of art in school, either from the angle of art, language, culture social, and also psychology.
