Abstrak
Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi partikel penguat Nano-Al2O3 pada komposit dengan matriks ADC12. Variasi Fraksi Volume yang digunakan yaitu 0,25 vf%; 0,3 vf%; 0,35 vf%; 0,4 vf%; dan 0,5 vf% . Komposit ADC12/Nano-Al2O3 dibuat melalui pengecoran aduk. Dilakukan penambahan magnesium sebanyak 10 wt% untuk meningkatkan kemampubasahan antara partikel Nano-Al2O3 dengan matriks ADC12, Al-5Ti-B sebanyak 0,15 wt% sebagai penghalus butir, dan stronsium sebanyak 0,04 wt% sebagai pemodifikasi butir. Karakterisasi komposit ADC12/Nano-Al2O3 dilakukan dengan pengujian tarik, pengujian impak, pengujian kekerasan, pengujian aus, pengujian densitas dan porositas, pengujian komposisi kimia, pengujian metalografi, pengujian SEM-EDS, dan pengujian XRD. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan karakteristik mekanis material komposit ADC12/Nano-Al2O3 pada fraksi volum 0,35 vf%. Penambahan partikel penguat Nano-Al2O3 berlebih akan meningkatkan terjadinya aglomerasi dan porositas.
This study conducted to know the effect of volume fraction variation reinforced particle Nano-Al2O3 of composite made with matrix of ADC12 done by Stir Casting Method. The addition 10 wt% of Magnesium as wetting agent, addition 0,15 Al-5Ti-B as grain refiner, and addition 0,04 wt% of Stronsium as modifier. The characterize of composite ADC12/Nano-Al2O3 done with several testing, which tensile testing, impact testing, hardness testing, wear testing, density and porosity testing, chemical composition characterization, metallographic observation, SEM-EDS characterization, and XRD characterization. The results showed increasing in mechanical properties of composite ADC12/Nano-Al2O3 at volume fraction 0,35 vf%. However, excess addition of reinforced Nano-Al2O3 increases agglomeration and porosity.
