Dalam sejarah kolonial di Hindia Belanda terdapat narasi yang berhubungan dengan non-place, terutama dalam bukti sejarah stasiun kereta api pada periode akhir kolonial. Namun, gambaran keadaan stasiun kereta api pada priode Hindia Belanda berbeda dengan gambaran stasiun sebagai non-place. Perbedaan ini pada dasarnya dipengaruhi karena adanya sistem kolonial. Pembahasan non-place dalam konteks kolonialisme dapat menjadi celah kritik yang dapat memunculkan pernyataan baru terhadap konsep non-place.Stasiun Kereta Api Cianjur dipilih sebagai objek penelitian karena berdasarkan alasan historis juga geografis wilayahnya. Pada periode kolonial, kereta api dan stasiun membawa Cianjur pada kejayaannya di masa lalu sebagai salah satu wilayah yang menghasilkan komiditi perkebunan terkenal.Berdasarkan pertimbangan topik penelitian yang dipilih, saya menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah untuk menangkap apa yang telah terjadi pada masyarakat, kejadian, dan makna dari stasiun kereta api Cianjur yang muncul pada masa kolonial yang berpengaruh terhadap keadaanya sekarang. Dengan mencari indikasi-indikasi yang menujukkan perbedaan atau kontradiksi dengan konsep non-place melalui penelusuran narasi dan bukti sejarah stasiun serta analisis arsitektur dari stasiun kereta api pada periode kolonial diharapkan dapat menjawab alasan perbedaan gambaran non-place dalam konteks kolonial. In the colonial history of the Dutch Indies, there were non-place related narratives, especially in the historical evidence of the railway station in the late colonial period. However, the depiction of the state of the train station in the Dutch East Indies period is different from the depiction of the station as non-place. This difference is basically influenced by the existence of colonialism. Non-place in the context of colonialism can be a gap of criticism that can bring new statements to the concept of non-place.Cianjur Railway Station was chosen as the object of this research because it was based on historical and geographical reasons for its territory. In the colonial period, trains and railway stations brought Cianjur to its glory in the past as one of the areas that produced famous plantation commodities.Based on the research topic, I used the historical method to capture what had happened to the community, the events, and the meaning of the Cianjur railway station that happened in the colonial period which had an effect on the present situation. By looking for the indications that show the differences or contradictions with non-place concept through tracing the narratives and evidence of railway history and also base on the analysis of the architecture of the railway station in the colonial period are expected to answer the reasons for the differences in non-place depiction in the colonialism context. |
