ABSTRAK Fasad bangunan atau muka bangunan adalah hal pertama yang dilihat oleh calon pengunjung. Dalam hal restoran, fasad bangunan akan memberikan impresi terhadap servis, kualitas dan atmosfer restoran di dalamnya sehingga suatu restoran membutuhkan sesuatu yang merepresentasikan konsep restoran yang ingin ditampilkan, (Bitner, 1992). Bagi restoran yang memakai bangunan cagar budaya, umumnya restoran tersebut mempunyai konsep yang berhubungan dengan kultur dan kreatifitas (Heritage Lottery Fund, 2013). Namun untuk restoran yang memakai bangunan cagar budaya (BCB), peraturan mengenai adaptasi fungsi bangunan tetap berlaku contohnya adalah larangan dalam merubah fisik bangunan. Hal ini berlaku juga dalam penerapan desain pencahayan fasad. Pencahayaan buatan pada BCB memerlukan perlakuan khusus karena harus mengikuti kaidah pelestarian. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prinsip dan teknik pencahayaan pada fasad restoran dengan BCB yang dapat sekaligus mengakomodasi elemen fasad yang bersifat komersial. Adapun bangunan restoran yang dijadikan studi adalah Café Batavia yang berada di kawasan Kota Tua dan Tugu Kuntskring Paleis yang berada di Menteng, Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei berupa observasi dan wawancara dengan calon pengunjung. ABSTRACT The facade of the building is the first thing that is seen by potential visitors. In the case of restaurants, the facade of the building will give an impression of service, quality, and atmosphere of the restaurant in it so that a restaurant needs something could represent the concept of the restaurant that is wanted to be displayed (Bitner, 1992). Restaurants that use heritage buildings as their trading places can be very commercially unique. Generally, they already have concepts that are related to culture and creativity (Heritage Lottery Fund, 2013). But for them, the regulations regarding the adaptation of building functions will still apply. For example, the prohibitions in changing the physical structure of buildings which affect the applications of the facade lighting designs, so that artificial lighting in commercial heritage buildings requires special treatment because it must follow the preservation rules.This study aims to analyze the principles and techniques of lighting in restaurant facades with heritage buildings which also accommodate the commercial facade elements. effects on the facades of commercial buildings as well as on cultural heritage buildings. This is a qualitative study based on the survey, and interviews with the potential customers. This study uses Café Batavia in the Kota Tua area and Tugu Kuntskring Paleis located in Menteng as case studies. |
