Tingkat literasi kesehatan bagi Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) sangat penting, karena dapat
mempengaruhi outcome kesehatan, salah satunya dalam pemilihan alat kontrasepsi yang
tepat. Pengukuran literasi kesehatan pada penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan
Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLQ) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan
literasi kesehatan Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) terhadap pemilihan Metode Kontrasepsi
Jangka Panjang (MKJP) di Kabupaten Brebes Jawa Tengah (n=100). Penelitian ini adalah
penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain studi cross sectional. Data yang digunakan adalah
data sekunder My Choice 2016 yang merupakan program kerjasama antara John Hopkins
University (JHU) Center for Communication Program (CCP) Indonesia dengan Pusat
Penelitian Kesehatan Universitas Indonesia (PPKUI). Analisis dilakukan dengan analisis
skor total HLQ, dan Analisis HLQ dihubungkan dengan dimensi Nutbeam. Literasi
kesehatan sebagai variabel independen dan MKJP sebagai variabel dependen, kemudian
usia, pendidikan dan pekerjaan sebagai variabel kontrol. Hasil analisis pada skor total
HLQ menunjukan ada hubungan antara literasi kesehatan terhadap pemilihan MKJP
setelah dikontrol oleh variabel lainnya. Hasil ini menunjukan perlunya peningkatan
literasi kesehatan pada WUS dalam pemilihan penggunaan kontrasepsi yang tepat.

The level of Health Literacy Role for the Fertile Women (FW) are extremely important
because it can affect the outcome of the overall health, one of which is the appropriate
choice for a contraceptive method. The measuring for the Health Literacy is conducted
with a Health Literacy Questionnaire (HLQ) that measures the correlation between Health
Literacy on FW and their preference/choice for Long-Term Contraceptive Method
(LTCM) in the Brebes Regency Central Java (n=100). This research uses a cross sectional
design quantitative method. The data samples used in this research are secondary data
from the My Choice 2016 program. A collaborative program between John Hopkins
University Center for Communication Program Indonesia (JHU-CCP) and Universitas
Indonesia Center for Health Research (UICHR). The analysis is done in two ways. First,
an analysis on the total HLQ score, the second one is an HLQ analysis correlated with the
Nutbeam dimension. Health Literacy as an independent variable; and LTCM as a
dependent variable; age, education level, and field of work as a control variable. The
results on the total HLQ score shows the effect of the Health Literacy with the
preference/choice LTCM after the control variable are accounted for. This result shows
the need of Health Literacy improvements on FW on their preference/choice of an
appropriate contraceptive method.
