This thesis used a secondary data from 28 provinces between 2011 and 2017 to find the determinants of serious theft in Indonesia. By employing a random group effect model, it is found that the increase of Gini ratio and provincial police personnel per capita have a positive relation to serious theft. On the other hand, the increase of poverty rate and provincial police budget will have a negative relation to serious theft. Moreover, the variable unemployment rate, illiterate rate, and gross regional domestic product per capita show no effect on serious theft as the coefficient estimate is statistically insignificant. |
