Fenomena Returnees Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) merupakan salah satu isu terorisme yang perlu dikaji dan diteliti oleh para akademisi maupun praktisi. Dari waktu ke waktu, terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan terkait dengan jumlah Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) yang berpeluang untuk kembali ke negara asalnya untuk menjadi returnees. Tingginya jumlah returnees yang kembali ke negara asalnya sebagai the revenge seeker menyebabkan munculnya potensi ancaman. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menjelaskan mengenai proses yang dilalui oleh individu hingga mereka terlibat dalam terorisme sebagai Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF). Hasil penelitian didasarkan pada data primer yang didapatkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan narasumber serta dianalisis menggunakan General Strain Theory (GST) of Terrorism Agnew dan Staircase of Terrorism Moghaddam. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dalam proses menjadi Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF), seseorang mengalami pelatihan militer, pengalaman bertempur secara langsung dan penguatan ideologi. Dengan dipengaruhi oleh ketegangan sosial di masyarakat serta intepretasi mengenai ajaran agama yang salah, para Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) tersebut dapat berperan sebagai the Revenge Seeker ketika menjadi returnees. Hal tersebut menimbulkan potensi ancaman bagi negara asal dari para returnees. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa returnees foreign terrorist fighters (FTF) dapat menimbulkan potensi ancaman dalam tiga dimensi, yaitu ancaman fisik, dampak sosial dan konsekuensi ideologis. The Returnees Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) phenomenon is one of the terrorism issues that needs to be studied and researched by academics and practitioners. There is a significant increase in the number of Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) who have the opportunity to return to their home countries to become returnees. The high number of returnees returning to their home countries as the revenge seekers causes potential threats. In this study, the authors explain the process that individuals go through until they are involved in terrorism as Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF). The results are based on primary data obtained through in-depth interviews with informants and analyzed using General Strain Theory (GST) of Terrorism Agnew and Moghaddam's Staircase of Terrorism. This research found that in the process of becoming a Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF), a person get experiences from military training, hands-on combat experience and ideological reinforcement. Influenced by social tensions in society and false interpretations of religious teachings, the Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) can be the Revenge Seeker when they become returnees. That can raise a potential threat to the country of origin of the returnees. This research also found that returnees foreign terrorist fighters (FTF) can pose potential threats in three dimensions, namely physical threats, social impacts and ideological consequences. |
