Abstract
ABSTRACT This study was conducted to analyze the effect on profitability of the General Insurance Industry in Indonesia by taking into account three approaches, namely Return on Assets (ROA), net Underwriting Results, and Investment Results. Regression data used are panel data on 25 insurance companies that have gross premiums above Rp. 500,000,000,000. The analytical method used is multiple linear analysis, classic assumption test, and hypothesis testing using the help of the EViews program. The results of this study explain that Gross Premium has no effect on ROA, but has a positive effect on Underwriting Results and Investment Results. Gross claims have a negative effect on ROA, and have no influence on Underwriting Results and Investment Results. Operating Costs do not affect ROA, but have a positive effect on Underwriting Results and Investment Results.
