Skor SKR setelah terapi akupunktur 10 kali (p = 0,001) dan7 hari setelah terapi terakhir (p = 0,001). Jumlah konsumsi rokok setelah terapiakupunktur 10 kali (p = 0,002) dan 7 hari setelah terapi terakhir (p = <0,001). SkorURICA setelah terapi akupunktur 10 kali (p = 0,004) dan 7 hari setelah terapi terakhir(p = <0,001). Penemuan ini menunjukkan bahwa terapi kombinasi akupunktur telinga(Protokol NADA) dengan MET memberikan efek yang lebih baik terhadap perubahanklinis pada pasien adiksi rokok Cigarette addiction (CA) is currently included in the disorder using cigarettes includedin the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-V (DSM-V). Increased ofcigarette consumption due to increased cigarette disease burden related to health, social, economic and environmental burdens not only for smokers but also for others. There are three main challenges to stop smoking, from biological or physiological, psychological and behavioral factors and social environment. Cigarette addictioncauses withdrawal symptoms that make smokers difficult to stop smoking, eliminatingenvironmental and social problems also greatly affect smokers who want to quit. Earacupuncture with the National Detoxification Acupuncture Association (NADA)protocol has been shown to improve withdrawal symptoms and is effective for smokingcessation.. Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MET) is an approach that has afoundation of wisdom and designed to produce motivational changes. This studyassessed the effect of combined ear acupuncture therapy (NADA protocol) using aPyonex patch needle with MET on clinical changes evaluated with the CigaretteDependency Scale (CDS) score, consumption amount of cigarettes, and University ofRhode Island Change Assessment (URICA) motivation score in patients with cigaretteaddiction. Thirty-six patients were randomly divided into two groups, the earacupuncture groups (NADA protocol) with MET (n = 18) and sham acupuncture groupswith MET (n = 18). Both groups received the same acupuncture session, 2 times perweek for 10 times and MET 1-2 times per week for 3 times. The assessment of the CDSscore, the number of cigarette consumption and URICA was done before therapy, afteracupuncture 10 times and MET 3 times and 7 days after the last therapy. The resultsshowed that there were significant differences in the CDS score, total cigaretteconsumption, and URICA in the ear acupuncture group (NADA Protocol) with METcompared to sham acupuncture with MET acupuncture group. SKR scores afteracupuncture therapy 10 times (p = 0.001) and 7 days after the last therapy (p = 0.001).Total cigarette consumption after acupuncture therapy 10 times (p = 0.002) and 7 daysafter the last therapy (p = <0.001). URICA score after acupuncture therapy 10 times (p= 0.004) and 7 days after the last therapy (p = <0.001). These findings suggest that thecombination of ear acupuncture (NADA protocol) with MET gives a better effect onclinical changes in cigarette addiction patients |
