This study examines the stigma of patriarchal culture that appears in three short stories by Eka Kurniawan. Entitled Lesung Pipit, Dongeng Sebelum Bercinta, and Kutukan Dapur. The three short stories show the patriarchal cultural stigma that is built through male and female relationships in marriage, forced marriages, and father-daughter relationship. All three have problems related to the cultural stigma that arises because of the patriarchal cultures longevity and it closely pushing women to fight against it. These three problems are related to the construction of society in patriarchal culture, that the role of women should be in power in the domestic sphere (kitchen and bed), father-daughter problems, and virginity that is guarded before marriage. The three short stories show the patriarchal cultural stigma oppresses women. Thus the problem in this study is how the resistance shown by female leaders in the three short stories free themselves from the stigma of patriarchal culture. In research using the concept of patriarchal culture to describe the repression received by the three female figures in the three corpus. The concepts of sex and gender are used to describe the position of women and their role in the domestic sphere which is dominated by patriarchal culture. The last is the concept of cultural stigma which is the main discussion in the study to describe the three female leaders who are trapped in it. In the three short stories, Eka Kurniawan uses his perspective as a male in placing female characters. All three are placed in an oppressed position, so they need more reasons to take power over themselves. The attitude shown by the three female leaders can be interpreted as freeing themselves from the stigmas that arise in patriarchal culture. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a relationship with patriarchal culture with stigma, patriarchal culture with marriage, and patriarchal culture with attitudes taken by female figures to regain power over themselves and their bodies.
