Karya ilmiah akhir (KIA) merupakan laporan praktik residensi keperawatan medikal bedahyang terdiri dari pengelolaan kasus kanker dengan pendekatan chronic illness trajectory model,penerapan evidence based nursing penggunaan larutan aloe vera untuk mencegah dan ataumengatasi stomatitis dan nyeri sebagai efek samping kemoterapi serta melakukan proyekinovasi latihan PMR (Progressive Muscle Relaxation) untuk mengatasi mual dan muntahsebegai efek samping kemoterapi. Konsep trajectory meyakini penyakit kronis mempunyaiperjalanan yang berbeda dari waktu ke waktu sesuai fasenya dan dapat dikelola, serta berfokuspada perawatan suportif dengan tetap memperhatikan perawatan langsung pada pasien,sehingga dapat digunakan oleh pasien kanker untuk meningkatkan kemandirian dan kualitashidupnya. Perawatan mulut dengan larutan aloe vera terbukti efektif untuk mencegah dan ataumenangani stomatitis dan nyeri sebagai efek samping kemoterapi pada pasien leukemia danlymphoma, mempunyai efek preventif, tanpa atau minimal efek samping, dan sangat berpotensiuntuk dikembangkan di Indonesia karena banyaknya tanaman aloe vera yang tumbuh subur ditanah Indonesia. Selain itu, implementasi proyek inovasi yaitu latihan PMR terbukti efektifuntuk mencegah dan atau mengurangi mual dan muntah sebagai efek samping kemoterapi padapasien kanker, mudah, murah, minimal atau tanpa efek samping, serta dapat dipraktikkandimana saja dan kapan saja.
This final scientific paper is a report of residency practice of medical surgical nursing,consisting of the cancer cases management with the chronic illnes trajectory models approach,application of evidence based nursing using aloe vera to treat stomatitis and pain alsoinnovation project of PMR (Progressive Muscle Relaxation) exercise to reduce nausea andvomiting as the side effect of chemotherapy. The concept of trajectory views that chronicdisease has the different trajectory depending of the phase. It can be managed, focusing on thesupportive care without neglecting the direct care. This concept can be implemented to thenursing care of cancer patients to increase the patientâs self care and quality of life. Oral carewith aloe vera can threat stomatitis and pain effectively to the leukemia and lymphoma patientsas the side effect of chemotherapy, has the preventive effect, without or minimal side effect,and potentially to be more developed because the aloe vera can be easily grow up in Indonesia.Implementation of PMR as the innovation project also can reduce nausea and vomitingeffectively as the side effect of chemotherapy, easy, cheap, without or minimal side effect, andcan be practiced everywhere and everytime. |
