Abstract
Nausea and vomiting are the most common side effects of chemotherapy in patients undergoing chemotherapy cycles. This nausea affects the quality of life of patients, adherence in the treatment process, as well as overall treatment costs and can cause psychological problems in the form of anxiety or stressors that make patients behave to stop their chemotherapy, this will certainly make the patients condition worse and lower expectations living in the future so that interventions need to be done to overcome the nausea complaints. The purpose of this paper is to analyze nursing care in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy with the application of acupressure therapy to reduce nausea and vomiting while undergoing chemotherapy. Acupressure is an evidence-based complementary therapy that can reduce complaints of nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy patients. The area of massage points to suppress or reduce nausea and vomiting is at points P6 and ST36. This acupressure technique intervention was given for 5 days of treatment. The results obtained were measured through the subjective evaluation of the patient and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) instrument after the intervention was completed. Based on this, the P6 and ST36 point acupressure technique interventions are effective in reducing nausea complaints in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
