Kemampuan wanita dalam menggunakan teknologi harus disertai dengan literasi yang baik agar mereka dapat merespons informasi hoax yang beredar melalui WhatsApp secara kritis. Demikian juga dengan kegiatan Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan dan Keluarga (PKK) Situbondo yang mayoritas Tim Penggeraknya (TP) adalah ibu-ibu yang memanfaatkan WhatsApp sebagai komunikasi kelompoknya. Karenanya, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk: 1) Mengidentifikasi literasi informasi dan media TP PKK Situbondo serta respons informasi hoax melalui WhatsApp, 2) Mengidentifikasi pengaruh literasi informasi dan media TP PKK Situbondo terhadap respons informasi hoax melalui WhatsApp, 3) Mengidentifikasi pengaruh literasi informasi dan media TP PKK Situbondo terhadap respons kognitif, afektif, dan behavioral terhadap informasi hoax melalui WhatsApp. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan 440 responden. Hasil yang didapat yakni: 1) Literasi infromasi dan media TP PKK Situbondo cukup tinggi, namun respons informasi hoax melalui WhatsApp cukup rendah, 2) Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan literasi informasi dan media TP PKK Situbondo terhadap respons informasi hoax melalui WhatsApp, 3) Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan literasi informasi dan media TP PKK Situbondo terhadap respons kognitif, afektif, dan behavioral informasi hoax melalui WhatsApp. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran dalam membuat strategi kebijakan literasi informasi dan media untuk pemberdayaan TP PKK Situbondo dalam merespons informasi hoax secara kritis dan bijak. Women's ability in using technology must accompanied by good literacy to respond critically of hoax information through WhatsApp. Likewise, the Situbondo Empowernment and Family Welfare (PKK) movement, where the majority of Driving Team are housewifes also use WhatsApp as their group communication. Therefore the purpose of this study are for: 1) Identify media and information literacy of Situbondo PKK Driving team and hoax information through WhatsApp, 2) Identify the effect of media and information literacy of Situbondo PKK driving team on hoax information responses through WhatsApp, 3) Identify the effect of media and information literacy of Situbondo PKK driving team to the cognitive, affective, and behavioral responses of hoax information through WhatsApp. The method used is quantitative with 440 respondents. The results reveal that: 1) the media and information literacy is quite high, but the response of hoax information is quite low, 2) There is positive and significant influence of media and information literacy on hoax information responses, 3) There is positive and significant influence of media and information literacy to the cognitive, affective, and behavioral responses. This study provide inside in making media and information literacy policies for Empowering Situbondo PKK driving team in responding hoax information critically and wisely. |
