Kemerdekaan Maroko tidak terlepas dari pengaruh kolonialisme Prancis yang telah ikut melanggengkan perbudakan dan penindasan ras. Artikel ini membahas internalisasi rasisme dalam novel Le Mariage de Plaisir karya Tahar Ben Jelloun yang terbit pada 2016 sebagai bentuk dari dampak kolonialisme Prancis. Dalam bentuk cerita berbingkai, novel ini mengungkapkan bahwa rasisme berlangsung dari generasi ke generasi dalam kawin kontrak atas nama Islam. Berdasarkan metode kualitatif, penulis menemukan adanya proses internalisasi rasisme dapat menciptakan habitus rasis pada semua ras. Dengan mengangkat rumusan masalah, bagaimana wacana rasisme dapat mengakar kuat di masyarakat dan diinternalisasikan ke dalam habitus tokoh, artikel ini bertujuan menyatakan bahwa rasis adalah sikap dan tindakan yang diperoleh melalui proses internalisasi masyarakat tanpa memandang warna kulit. Penulis menggunakan teori struktur naratif teks sastra Todorov (1985) dan konsep fokalisasi oleh Genette (1983), konsep rasisme oleh Binet (2009), serta teori praktik Bourdieu (2000). Hal tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa rasisme diaktifkan, diwariskan, dan dipertahankan dari unit sosial terkecil serta menjadikannya sebagai habitus individu. Moroccan independence was inseparable from the influence of French colonialism which had perpetuated slavery and racial oppression. This article discusses the internalization of racism in the novel Le Mariage de Plaisir by Tahar Ben Jelloun which was published in 2016 as a result of thoughts on the impact of French colonialism. In the form of framed story, it clarifies racism continues to exist from generation to generation in marriage contract in the name of Islam. Based on qualitative methods, the authors found a process of internalization of racism can create a racist habitus in all races. By raising the formulation of the problem, how the discourse of racism can be firmly rooted in society and internalized into the habitus of characters, the aim stated that racists are attitudes and actions obtained through the process of internalizing society regardless of skin color. The author uses the theory of the narrative structure of literary texts by Todorov (1985) and focalization by Genette (1983), the concept of racism by Binet (2009), also the practical theory of Bourdieu (2000). It reveals that racism is activated, inherited, and maintained from the smallest social unit as well making it an individual habitus |
