Kopi Priangan pernah mencapai puncak pada abad 17-18. Pada abad ke-19 komoditas kopi mengalami penurunan karena beberapa faktor, tetapi salah satu yang paling besar adalah serangan dari hama hemileia vasatrixpada beberapa tanaman kopi arabika sehingga melumpuhkan varietas kopi arabika di Jawa. Kota Bandung memiliki perkembangan yang pesat terlihat dari infrastruktur dan pengaruh dari Eropa yang cukup pesat. Hal ini dinilai mendukung usaha kopi yang mulai bermunculan di kota Bandung sehingga melahirkan sebuah pertanyaan penelitian apa dampak perkembangan kota Bandung terhadap kemunculan usaha kopi pada awal abad ke-20. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah dari Kuntowijoyo. Perkembangan kota Bandung yang pesatdalam hal ini seperti pembangunan stasiun, munculnya Pasar Baru, dan terpaparnya kota Bandung dengan gaya hidup Eropa mendukung usaha kopi terbentuk dalam bentuk pabrik dan kedai kopi. Priangan coffee had become the top commodities in the 17-18 centuries. In the 19th century the coffee commodity decreased due to several factors, but one of the biggest was the attack from the hemileia vastatrix pest on some arabica coffee plants, triggered the Arabica coffee commodity decreased at that time. The city of Bandung has had a fast development, seen from the infrastructure and influence from Europe which is quite fast. This is considered to support the coffee business that began to emerge in the city of Bandung, giving rise to a researchquestion about the impact of the development of the city of Bandung on the emergence of coffee business in the early 20th century. This study uses the historical method from Kuntowijoyo. The rapid development of the cityof Bandung in this regard, such as the construction of stations, the emergence of Pasar Baru, and the emeregence of coffee factory and coffee shop. |
