Abstract
Penelitian ini melibatkan variabel wishful identification dan interaksi parasosial dengan desain non-eksperimental. Partisipan penelitian adalah masyarakat umum dengan kriteria umur 18-24 tahun yang menonton tayangan acara dari karakter figur publik Muhammad Attamimi Halilintar di media sosial (N = 164). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah classic 10-item Para-Ssocial Interaction scale dan wishful identification scale. Hasil analisis korelasi Pearson menunjukkan bahwa wishful identification memiliki korelasi positif dan signifikandengan tingkat interaksi parasosial seseorang.
......This study examined the correlation of wishful identification on parasocial interaction. This study used a non-experimental design. The participants were Indonesian 18-24 years old who watched public figure character Muhammad Attamimi Halilintar showed on any social media (N = 164). The instrument used in this study were the classic 10-item Para- Ssocial Interaction scale and the wishful identification scale. The results of the Pearson correlation analysis showed that the wishful identification had a significant positive relation to the level of parasocial interaction
