Skripsi ini membahas tentang perubahan nilai pada objek yang berkaitan dengan organisasi spasial pada ruang bekerja di rumah. Keadaan pandemi Covid-19 menuntut para pekerja dan mahasiswa untuk bekerja jarak jauh dari rumah (Work from Home (WFH)) sebagai remote workers. Kebutuhan fisik dan psikologis yang muncul selama WFH mendorong remote workers untuk melakukan adaptasi dengan melakukan perubahan pada workspacenya, terutama melalui penggunaan dan peletakan objek sebagai aspek yang memiliki keterkaitan yang erat dengan bagaimana manusia memproduksi dan mengalami ruang. Skripsi ini mempelajari mekanisme remote workers dalam melakukan adaptasi ruang dengan mengubah cara mereka memberi value pada objek dan mengorganisasi valued objects tersebut. Studi kasus dilakukan pada 3 remote workers dengan aktivitas dan preferensi yang berbeda-beda. Hasil analisis studi kasus menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan organisasi objek yang muncul selama WFH bertujuan untuk memberikan kemudahan akses terhadap valued objects yang mendukung aktivitas, mendukung kebutuhan akan kualitas ruang yang nyaman dan menyenangkan, dan ruang yang dapat memproduksi interface yang mendemonstrasikan identitas diri remote workers. Studi ini menemukan bahwa dinamika valued objects bagi remote workers terkait dengan bagaimana objek dinilai, baik sebagai sebagai prosthetic possessions, memiliki attachment terhadap dirinya, menjadi source of attraction, dan source of pride. Organisasi valued objects pada ruang demikian mempertimbangkan kemudahan akses terhadap objek untuk berkegiatan, visibilitas objek pada ruang, dan kualitas cahaya yang baik di dalam ruang agar mudah terlihat saat bekerja dan berinteraksi. This thesis discusses the changing value of objects that affect the spatial organization of a home-based workspace. Covid-19 pandemic situation requires workers and students to work remotely from home (Work from Home (WFH)) as remote workers. The physical and psychological needs that arise during WFH encourage remote workers to adapt by making changes to their workspace, especially through the use and placement of objects as aspects that are closely related to how humans produce and experience space. This thesis examines the mechanism of remote workers in adapting their workspace by changing the way they value objects and organize the valued objects. The case study was conducted on 3 remote workers with different activities and preferences. The case study analysis shows that the objectives of object organization that emerged during WFH are aimed to provide easy access to valued objects that support activities, supporting the need for comfortable and pleasant qualities of space, and a space that can produce interfaces that demonstrate the self-identity of the workers. The study found that the value dynamics of the remote workers’ objects is shaped by either the objects’ existence as prosthetic possessions for the body in conducting their activities, the meaningful attachment of the objects with the remote workers, and objects that exist as a source of attraction and pride. The organisation of these valued objects in space considers the ease of access towards the objects in doing the activities, visibility of objects in space, and the good light quality for working and interacting purposes. |
