Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana hubungan antara karakteristik generasi Z sebagai pengguna informasi dengan kebutuhan informasi yang dimiliki oleh siswa SMA Negeri 2 Depok pada pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada siswa kelas X dan XI di SMA Negeri 2 Depok. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 256 responden dengan menggunakan teknik Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswi generasi Z di SMA Negeri 2 Depok dominan memiliki karakteristik terpacu. Mereka membutuhkan informasi tentang karir, cita-cita, dan rencana pekerjaan pada pandemi COVID-19. Berdasarkan hasil analisis bivariat, terdapat hubungan yang positif dan kuat secara signifikan antara karakteristik generasi Z sebagai pengguna informasi dengan kebutuhan informasi yang dimiliki oleh remaja generasi Z di SMA Negeri 2 Depok pada pandemi COVID-19. Dengan karakter generasi Z yang sangat bersemangat untuk sukses dan berhasil di masa depan, mereka membutuhkan informasi yang mendukung dalam mencapai tujuan dan cita-cita mereka tersebut. This study has goals to examine the relationship between the characteristics of Generation Z as information users and the information needs of SMA Negeri 2 Depok students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a quantitative research with survey method. Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to students in grades X and XI at SMA Negeri 2 Depok. The samples taken were 256 respondents using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. The results of this study indicate that generation Z students at SMA Negeri 2 Depok have dominant characteristics of being motivated. They need information about careers, goals, and work plans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the bivariate analysis, there is a significant positive and strong relationship between the characteristics of Generation Z as information users and the information needs of Generation Z teenagers at SMA Negeri 2 Depok during the COVID-19 pandemic. With Generation Z characters who are very passionate about success and succeed in the future, they need information that supports them in achieving their goals and ideals. |
