Identifikasi tantangan dan solusi proses requirements engineering pada proyek agile: studi kasus Perusahaan Otomotif XYZ = Requirements engineering process on agile projects challenges and solutions identification: case study of Automotive Company XYZ

Pada awal tahun 2019, korporasi IT di Perusahaan Otomotif XYZ (PT XYZ) mengadopsi Scrum untuk sebagian proyek yang dijalankan. Namun, hasil wawancara dengan kepala departemen Project Management Office menunjukkan 34% (29 dari 86) proyek agile tahun 2020 tidak selesai di tahun tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan pejabat korporasi IT, kendala terkait requirements engineering merupakan masalah yang paling banyak muncul. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi tantangan dan solusi untuk proses requirements engineering pada proyek-proyek agile di PT XYZ. Penelitian ini terbagi menjadi dua tahap: (1) identifikasi tantangan serta solusi dari literatur dengan menggunakan systematic mapping study dan (2) validasi hasil identifikasi tersebut kepada penanggung jawab proses requirements engineering di PT XYZ dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan group interview. Tahap pertama penelitian mengidentifikasi 15 tantangan dan 38 solusi dari tujuh penelitian terseleksi. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa 13 dari 15 tantangan terjadi di PT XYZ, sedangkan 2 tantangan tidak terjadi. Data juga menunjukkan bahwa dua tantangan teratas (urutan 1 dan 2) yang dianggap valid oleh 100% responden hanya disebutkan di dua dan tiga penelitian saja. Sementara, satu dari dua tantangan terbawah (urutan 14) justru disebutkan di lima penelitian terdahulu. Fakta tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tantangan utama yang dihadapi oleh PT XYZ bukan tantangan yang umum terjadi, sementara salah satu tantangan yang umum ditemukan tidak dominan terjadi dalam praktek di perusahaan. Berdasarkan hasil group interview, terdapat 14 tantangan yang dihadapi perusahaan: 13 tantangan sama dengan hasil kuesioner dan 1 tantangan tambahan dari group interview. Selain itu, terdapat 21 solusi yang termasuk prioritas untuk implementasi: 13 solusi sama dengan hasil kuesioner dan 8 solusi tambahan dari group interview. In early 2019, the IT corporation at Automotive Company XYZ (PT XYZ) adopted Scrum for some of its projects. However, the results from an interview with the head of the Project Management Office department showed that 34% (29 of 86) 2020 agile projects were incompleted. Based on interview results with IT corporate officials, requirements engineering-related problems are the most common problems. This study aims to identify requirements engineering process challenges and solutions on agile projects at PT XYZ. This research consists of two phases: (1) challenges and solutions identification from the literature using a systematic mapping study and (2) validation by the person in charge of the requirements engineering process at PT XYZ using a questionnaire and group interview. The first phase of the research identified 15 challenges and 38 solutions from the seven selected studies. The questionnaire results showed that 13 of the 15 challenges occurred at PT XYZ, while two challenges did not happen. This study also found that the top two challenges (number 1 and 2) that are 100% valid based on the respondents only found in two and three studies, while one of the lowest challenges (number 14) was mentioned in five previous studies. This fact shows that the two main challenges faced by PT XYZ are unusual, while one of the most frequently found challenges is not dominant in company practices. Based on the group interviews results, there are 14 challenges confirmed: 13 challenges are the same as the questionnaire results and one additional challenge from the group interview. In addition, there are 21 prioritized solutions: 13 solutions are the same as the questionnaire results and 8 more solutions from the group interview. |
