Menurut Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia Nomor 51 Tahun 2009, pekerjaan kefarmasian adalah pembuatan termasuk pengendalian mutu Sediaan Farmasi, pengamanan, pengadaan, penyimpanan dan pendistribusian atau penyaluran obat, pengelolaan obat, pelayanan obat atas resep dokter, pelayanan informasi obat, serta pengembangan obat, bahan obat dan obat tradisional. Pekerjaan kefarmasian tersebut dilakukan oleh seorang apoteker. Gelar apoteker didapat dari pendidikan profesi yang ditempuh setelah sarjana farmasi. Seorang apoteker dituntut untuk memiliki kemampuan akademik dan kemampuan profesi dalam mengaplikasikan Pekerjaan Kefarmasian. Oleh karena itu, calon apoteker harus dibekali ilmu-ilmu secara teori maupun praktik. Keilmuan secara praktik didapatkan melalui program praktik kerja profesi apoteker PKPA. Program PKPA dilaksanakan Apotek Roxy Pitara, Puskesmas Kecamatan Jagakarsa dan PT. Ethica Industri Farmasi dari bulan Januari hingga bulan April 2022. Melalui program PKPA ini, calon apoteker diharapkan dapat menambah keilmuan dan wawasan terkait pekerjaan kefarmasian sehingga nantinya menjadi bekal bagi calon apoteker sendiri ketika memasuki dunia kerja.
