Abstract
This book is an attempt to share the thinking that went in to developing a new theory
of how interaction with computers should be designed. As a result, the reader will
be presented with information coming from a wide variety of fi elds. This work
offers an overview of those fi elds, pulling up some details from one or the other in
turn, but not the incisive and defi nitive work of an expert.
