Abstrak
Proses mixer merupakan salah satu bagian terpenting dari pabrik gondorukem dan terpentin. Sistem pengendalian pada proses mixer tersebut masih dilakukan secara manual yaitu dengan menggunakan tenaga manusia sebagai operator. Proses mixer ini adalah proses batch dimana ketiga reaktannya yaitu larutan getah, larutan asam oksalat dan air pencucian yang akan dicampur dalam tangki mixer, kapasitasnya telah ditentukan terlebih dahulu. Berdasarkan pengendalian yang masih manual dan tipe proses tersebut maka perlu diterapkan PLC sebagai pengendali otomatis. Tesis ini membahas penerapan PLC sebagai pengendali proses mixer tersebut.
Mixer process is part of important thing at gum rosin and turpentine industry. Process control system at the industry is manually, which using human ability as the operator. Mixer is a batch process, which capacity of the three reactants, gum liquid, oxalic acid and water that will mixed in the mixer tank was weighted first. According to manually control system and type of the process, then need to use PLC as automatic controller. This thesis discusses how to apply PLC as a controller for the mixer process.
