Abstract
The JMX-based Web Service Management project is developed to address the issue of management activities, such as monitoring the availability and performance of the available Java-based Web Services in the Bayer enterprise network. The existing Web Service Monitoring application works on the same application server. Thus, this Web Service Monitoring application cannot perform the distributed management, whereas the web service characteristic is a distributed application.
We solved these challenges in this master thesis. We called new monitoring application as Secure JMX-based Web Service Monitoring application. We used the JMX Remote API as the basis of remote connection on JMX-based technology. The development process is based on the problem iiames of object-oriented software development. This development process has showed on how integrating the existing component in the web services monitoring application with new components which addresses by requirement analysis results.
In this thesis, the existing Web Service Monitoring application improved to provide remote monitoring of web service on different application servers. Further, We provided the authentication and access control for the Web Service Monitoring application. Access control of the Web Service Monitoring application gives the user who has responsibility of which kind web services. The information of users is sent to the web service server so just the right user who can acquire the MBean server.
