Terrorism is not exclusively the concern of nation-states. Considering the massive impacts that it has on the international system, world organizations also regard terrorism as an important agenda which needs effective, appropriate measures. The article being presented here attempts to view how the conspiracy theory can be applied in analyzing the role of the United Nations in addressing the issue of terrorism. Firstly, the article elaborates the thoughts of Karl Popper on conspiracy theory. According to the conspiracy theory, the War on Terrorism is essentially a social phenomenon which resulted from the careful planning and actions of certain entities. The article then discusses how the conspiracy theory is applied in analyzing the role of the United Nations; in particular, regarding the authority and activities of the Security Council |
