Tesis ini meneliti pengaruh kecepatan potong tinggi dengan menggunakan mesin perkakas IVIAZAK QUICK TURN 8N terhadap kualitas permukaan Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah beban pada sumbu-sumbu mesin, kekasaran permukaan dan tebal geram. Proses pemesinan adalah pelepasan material dari permukaan benda kerja menggunakan pahat potong. Untuk memperbesar pelepasan material dilakukan dengan cara meningkatkan kecepatan potong (cutting speed) di atas 600 m/min. Pada proses pemesinan banyak pengaruh yang akan timbul seperti; keausan pahat, gaya pemotongan, temperatur pemotongan, bentuk geram yang akan dihasilkan, hasil akhir dari permukaan benda kerja dan biaya produksi. Kecepatan potong tinggi membentuk geram yang mempengaruhi kualitas permukaan benda kerja. Kualitas permukaan selain dipengaruhi oleh parameter pemesinan dan kondisi pemesinan juga dipengaruhi oleh geometri pahat. This thesis is to investigate the effect of high cutting speed to the surface quality with the help of MAZAK QUIK TURN BN machine tools. The data get from this research are the load of respective machine axis, surface roughness, and chips formation. Machining process is deined as material removal from the surface of the work pieces using cutting tools. The cutting speed that are higher than 600 mlmin could increase the rate of chips removal. Generally, machining process mush influences such as: tool wear, cutting force, cutting temperature, chips formation, surface tinish and production cost. High speed cutting will produces chips that affect the surface finish of the work pieces. In addition to influenced by machining parameter, the surface quality is affected by geometry as well. |
