Artikel ini membahas dinamika Gabungan Koperasi Batik Indonesia (GKBI) pada masa Demokrasi Terpimpin di mana terjadi tekanan politik dan ekonomi terhadap GKBI dari pihak-pihak yang berideologi komunis dan pihak pemerintahan Demokrasi Terpimpin yang mengakibatkan adanya pergeseran prinsip, peran, dan struktur kepengurusan GKBI. Artikel ini akan membahas dinamika GKBI dimulai sejak masa transisi hingga akhir Demokrasi Terpimpin saat tekanan ideologi komunis mendominasi. GKBI merupakan gabungan koperasi batik terbesar di Indonesia dengan hak tunggal impor dan distribusi kain mori/cambrics (pool cambrics) sebagai bagian dari penyederhanaan arus bahan baku industri batik sejak tahun 1953. Namun, menjelang munculnya Dekrit Presiden 1959, GKBI terseret ke dalam tekanan ideologi komunisme yang menghadapkan mereka pada dinamika koperasi yang sangat berbeda dibandingkan masa Demokrasi Liberal. Hal tersebut tidak terlepas dari karakter GKBI sebagai koperasi yang otonom serta dipengaruhi pemikiran koperasi Mohammad Hatta yang tidak sejalan dengan pihak komunis dan pemerintah. Akibat konflik ideologi tersebut terjadi intimidasi terhadap GKBI secara sistematis dan mempengaruhi prinsip, peran, dan struktur kepengurusan GKBI. Artikel ini menggunakan metode sejarah terhadap sumber berupa wawancara, arsip, dokumen terjilid, surat kabar sezaman, buku, dan jurnal, yang diperoleh dari ANRI, Perpusnas RI, DPAD DI Yogyakarta, Balai Besar Kerajinan dan Batik Yogyakarta, Balai Besar Tekstil Bandung, Kantor Pusat GKBI Jakarta, Kantor Koperasi Mitra Batik Tasikmalaya, dan lewat daring.
This article discusses the dynamics of the Gabungan Koperasi Batik Indonesia (GKBI) during the Guided Democracy period when there was political and economic pressures on GKBI from parties with communist ideology and the Guided Democracy government which resulted in the shifting of principles, role, and management structure of the GKBI. The discussion on the dynamics of GKBI began with the transition towards Guided Democracy until the end of Guided Democracy, when the communist ideological pressures dominated. GKBI is the largest batik cooperative association in Indonesia with the sole right to import and distribute mori/cambrics (pool cambrics) as part of a simplification of the flow of raw materials for the batik industry since 1953. However, before the issuance of the 1959 Presidential Decree, GKBI was dragged into the pressure of communism ideology which exposed them to very different dynamics and cooperative principles, compared to Liberal Democracy period. This is inseparable from GKBI’s character as a autonomous cooperative and the influence of Mohamad Hatta's cooperative thought. Resulting from this ideological conflict was the systematic intimidation of GKBI which gave influence to the principles, role of GKBI and even GKBI's management structure itself. This article utilizes historical methods for sources in the form of interviews, archives, bounded documents, contemporary newspapers, books and journals obtained from ANRI, National Library of Indonesia, DPAD DI of Yogyakarta, Center for Crafts and Batik in Yogyakarta, Bandung Center for Textiles, Central Office GKBI Jakarta, Mitra Batik Cooperative Office in Tasikmalaya, and online sources. |
