Indonesia merupakan salah satu produsen minyak kelapa sawit terbesar di dunia. Setiap tahun produksi minyak kelapa sawit Indonesia terus meningkat dan menjadi salah satu komoditas andalan untuk ekspor. Namun, industri ini menghadapi tekanan khususnya dari masalah lingkungan dan sosial karena peningkatan produksi akan berjalan beriringan dengan peningkatan produksi limbah. Ekonomi sirkular menawarkan solusi potensial untuk masalah ini, karena mempromosikan penggunaan sumber daya yang efisien dan pengurangan limbah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor pendorong dan penghambat penerapan ekonomi sirkular pada industri kelapa sawit di Indonesia. Penelitian ini mengkaji faktor pendorong dan faktor penghambat dengan menggunakan metode CVI dan modified kappa dengan mewawancarai beberapa ahli. Dari 32 faktor pendorong dan 38 faktor penghambat ditanyakan kepada para ahli dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 27 faktor pendorong dan 3 faktor penghambat dinyatakan valid. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa faktor pendorong yang paling relevan adalah pengurangan biaya, regulasi dan kebijakan pemerintah, serta tekanan sosial. Faktor penghambat yang relevan yang teridentifikasi adalah kurangnya pemahaman tentang ekonomi sirkular, kurangnya manfaat ekonomi, dan kendala keuangan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga melakukan pembobotan terhadap faktor pendorong dan penghambat, dimana kehadiran industri pengelola limbah dan peningkatan isu ekonomi sirkular di masyarakat merupakan bobot tertinggi pada faktor pendorong dan kurangnya keuntungan ekonomi merupakan bobot tertinggi faktor penghambat. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang faktor-faktor yang perlu diperhatikan untuk berhasil menerapkan ekonomi sirkular di industri kelapa sawit di Indonesia.
The palm oil industry in Indonesia is one of the largest producers of palm oil in the world, and is an important contributor to the Indonesian economy. However, the industry is facing increasing pressure from environmental and social concerns, such as deforestation, land degradation, and human rights violations. A circular economy offers a potential solution to these issues, as it promotes the efficient use of resources and the reduction of waste. Therefore, this research was conducted to identify the drivers and barriers to the implementation of a circular economy in the palm oil industry in Indonesia. This paper examines the drivers and barriers using CVI and modified kappa method by interviewing a few experts. To achieve this, 32 drivers and 38 barriers were asked to the experts and the results showed that 27 drivers and 3 barriers were valid. The results of the study showed that the most important drivers were the reduction of costs, regulations and government policies, and social pressure. The most important barrier identified was the lack of understanding of the circular economy, lack of economic benefits, and financial constraints. In addition, this study also weighted the drivers and barriers where the presence of the waste management industry and the increase in circular economy issues in society were the highest weighted on the driving factors and the lack of economic benefits was the highest weighted inhibiting factor. The results of this study provide valuable insights into the factors that need to be addressed to successfully implement a circular economy in the palm oil industry in Indonesia. The findings of this study can be used to inform policymakers and stakeholders of the key drivers and barriers that need to be addressed in order to successfully implement a circular economy in Indonesia’s palm oil industry. |
