Sintesis Tb(OH)3/rGO dan Y(OH)3/rGO Berbahan Dasar Logam Tanah Jarang untuk Aplikasi pada Superkapasitor = Synthesis of REE-Based Tb(OH)3/rGO and Y(OH)3/rGO for Supercapacitor Application

This study aims to obtain Tb(OH)3/rGO and Y(OH)3/rGO for supercapacitor applications. Terbium hydroxide [Tb(OH)3] and yttrium hydroxide [Y(OH)3] were synthesized by the sonochemical method using polyvinylpyrrolidone. Hummer's method used ascorbic acid as a reducing agent to synthesize reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Variety of mass ratio of RE(OH)3 and rGO were conducted at 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1. The physical characterization was analyzed on a sample that exhibited the highest value of specific capacitance by SEM-EDX (Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-Ray), FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), and XRD (X-Ray Diffraction). Electrochemical measurements were examined with various electrolyte solutions, such as alkaline (1 M KOH) and neutral (1 M Na2SO4). Y(OH)3/rGO 1:2 in 1 M KOH exhibited the highest specific capacitance of 41.54 F/g at 5 mV/s. SEM-EDX confirmed that Y(OH)3/rGO 1:2 is composed of C (65.22 %), O (22.88 %), and Y (8.20%). Based on FTIR analysis, Y(OH)3/rGO 1:2 comprises hydroxyl groups from Y(OH)3 and shifted spectra in rGO. XRD results showed that Y(OH)3/rGO 1:2 has a Y(OH)3 hexagonal structure and a thin layer of rGO. Using the 1 M KOH gave better super capacitive performance than 1 M Na2SO4. |
