Abstrak
Linda Lê merupakan penulis frankofon yang berasal dari Vietnam. Karyanya yang berjudul ?uvres Vives ia mengangkat bahwa bagaimana kolonialisme berpengaruh terhadap tindakan seseorang yang bahkan tidak mengalaminya. Novel ini menceritakan tentang jurnalis muda yang pada novel ini disebut dengan tokoh aku menemukan sebuah buku karya seorang penulis berdarah Vietnam yang bernama Antoine Sorel di sebuah kota bernama Le Havre. Akan tetapi tak lama kemudian ia menemukan bahwa penulisnya yang bernama Antoine Sorel telah mati bunuh diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan tekstual dan menggunakan teori analisis naratif Barthes (1975) serta teori fokalisasi oleh Gerard Genette (1983) serta teori identitas Stuart Hall (1997). Penelitian ini akan membahas bagaimana konflik identitas yang dimiliki oleh Martin Tran yaitu ayah dari Antoine Sorel dan Antoine sorel sendiri dalam novel ?uvres Vives. Ketidakharmonisan ini membuat anak-anak dari Martin Tran khususnya Antoine Sorel yang menjadi salah satu fokus penelitian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat pembentukan identitas diri pada seorang Martin Tran yang malu menjadi bagian dari orang Vietnam dan Antoine Sorel yang memiliki sifat bertolak belakang dengan ayahnya Marin Tran yaitu ingin mencari tahu asal usulnya. Selain itu penelitian ini akan melihat inferioritas Martin Tran yang merasa malu bahwa ia adalah orang keturunan Vietnam. Temuan pada Penelitian ini adalah bagaimana konflik identitas yang dialami oleh beberapa tokoh dapat mengubah cara pandang dan perilaku dari tokoh tersebut terhadap kolonialisme.
......Linda Lê is a francophone writer from Vietnam. Her work ?uvres Vives is about how colonialism affects the actions of someone who did not even experience it. The novel tells the story of a young journalist who, in this novel, is called the character I, finds a book by a Vietnamese writer named Antoine Sorel in a city called Le Havre. However, shortly afterward he discovered that the author named Antoine Sorel had committed suicide. This research uses a qualitative research method with a textual approach and uses Barthes' narrative analysis theory (1975) as well as Gerard Genette's focalization theory (1983) and Stuart Hall's identity theory (1997). This research will discuss how the conflict of identity owned by Martin Tran, the father of Antoine Sorel and Antoine Sorel himself in the novel ?uvres Vives. This disharmony makes the children of Martin Tran, especially Antoine Sorel, one of the focuses of the research. The purpose of this research is to see the formation of self-identity in a Martin Tran who is ashamed to be part of the Vietnamese people and Antoine Sorel who has the opposite nature to his father Marin Tran, namely wanting to find out his origins. In addition, this study will look at the inferiority of Martin Tran who feels ashamed that he is a person of Vietnamese descent. The finding of this research is how identity conflicts experienced by several characters can change the perspective and behaviour of these characters towards colonialism.
