Penelitian ini ingin mengungkap proses adaptasi arsitektur vernakular suku Bajo di desa Mola Kepulauan Wakatobi dalam mengahadapi modernitas. Suku Bajo adalah suku yang kehidupannya tidak pernah jauh dari laut, bergerak, bekerja dan tinggal di atas perahu, namun saat ini sebagian besar suku Bajo telah bermukim di pesisir pantai, hal ini terjadi karena pemerintah yang sejak dulu ingin membawa suku bajo ke daratan agar memiliki identitas dan teritori yang jelas. Perpindahan suku Bajo dari laut ke darat menyebabkan mereka terpaksa beradaptasi dengan lingkungan baru yang akhirnya menciptakan pemaknaan baru dalam kehidupan suku Bajo. Meskipun memiliki rumpun dan etnis yang sama, perkembangan tiap suku Bajo ditiap daerah pastilah memiliki cara tersendiri, yang membedakan adalah cara masyarakat beradaptasi dan memaknai rumah, sehingga rumah suku Bajo Mola merupakan salah satu objek yang mengalami proses adaptasi, perpindahan, dan perubahan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah unuk mengetahui sejarah perkembangan arsitektur vernakular Suku Bajo di Desa Mola dan proses adaptasinya dalam menghadapi modernitas. serta melihat perubahan apa yang terjadi pada proses adaptasi tersebut terhadap kebudayaan dan identitas asli suku Bajo di Desa Mola. Penelitian dilakukan di Pemukiman Suku Bajo desa Mola Kepulauan Wakatobi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah interpretasi historis dengan dua proses, pertama menganalisis bukti yang tertinggal untuk menghasilkan fakta dan kedua melakukan interpretasi sejarah, peneliti menggunakan 3 tahap dalam proses adaptasi yaitu inception, implementation, dan disposal, sebagai alat untuk menganalisa suku Bajo Mola. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa Suku Bajo Mola dalam menghadapi kehidupan modern tidak lantas menghilangkan atau mengganti aspek kehidupan terdahulu mereka dengan yang baru, namun mereka beradaptasi, menyesuaikan diri dengan tetap menjaga hal- hal yang penting untuk mereka yaitu kehidupan yang tetap berorientasi kepada lautan.
This study aims to reveal the process of adapting the vernacular architecture of the Bajo tribe in Mola village, Wakatobi Islands in the face of modernity. The Bajo tribe is a tribe whose life is never far from the sea, moves, works and lives on boats, but now most of the Bajo tribe have settled on the coast, this is because the government has always wanted to bring the Bajo tribe to the mainland in order to have a clear identity and territory. The movement of the Bajo tribe from sea to land forced them to adapt to a new environment which eventually created a new meaning in the life of the Bajo tribe. Even though they have the same family and ethnicity, the development of each Bajo tribe in each area must have its own way, the difference is the way the community adapts and interprets the house, so that the Bajo Mola house is one of the objects that undergo a process of adaptation, displacement, and change. The purpose of this study was to determine the history of the development of Bajo vernacular architecture in Mola Village and its adaptation process in the face of modernity. and see what changes have occurred in the adaptation process to the culture and original identity of the Bajo tribe in Mola Village. The research was conducted in the Bajo Tribe Settlement, Mola Village, Wakatobi Islands. The research method used is historical interpretation with two processes, firstly analyzing the remaining evidence to produce facts and secondly performing historical interpretation, the researcher uses 3 stages in the adaptation process, namely inception, implementation, and disposal, as a tool to analyze the Bajo Mola tribe. This research proves that the Bajo Mola Tribe in dealing with modern life does not necessarily eliminate or replace aspects of their previous life with new ones, but they adapt, adjust while maintaining the things that are important to them, namely life that remains oriented to the ocean. |
