The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the pattern of human life, especially those related to the Indonesian people's appreciation of art. The birth of various alternative arts, such as popular art and creative industrial art, has shifted the interest of people who initially loved and appreciated traditional art to become more interested in alternative contemporary art. This thesis discusses resilience practices in the effort to preserve shadow puppetry in the midst of digital disruption. Informants in this thesis research include: Keraton Yogyakarta, Kadipaten Pakualaman, Dinas Kebudayaan Yogyakarta, puppeteers, artists, cultural experts, and and the people of Yogyakarta who are members of the community of shadow puppet art lovers. Data were obtained using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and observations. This research aims to explain the phenomenon of cultural transformation that can be found in the development of shadow puppetry in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Disruption in the digital era has caused shadow puppet shows to enter non-conventional performance spaces. The practice of digitalization basically offers information openness and blurs all forms of space and time boundaries. At the end of the conclusion of this thesis, there is something that needs to be emphasized, namely the reality that something traditional is not the enemy of modernization in the digital era.
