ABSTRACT
Libraries today face rising costs, contract issues, changing formats, and technical complexities when it comes to electronic resources. This instructional guidebook will prepare you for managing every aspect of your virtual "stacks." From evaluating resources, to negotiating and licensing, to staff training and mastering authentication software, you'll learn everything you'll need to know to fund, procure, and organize your digital collection.
The work offers step-by-step guidance for overseeing collection development of electronic resources with a special focus on activities revolving around the life cycle of the materials, such as identifying and evaluating appropriate resources; managing the knowledge base, link resolver, discovery layer, and administrative accounts for each resource; and gathering and analyzing usage statistics and other assessment data. Content includes a chapter on communicating with authors, funding sources, publishers, and libraries regarding digital rights and access to texts. The book concludes with a look at the future directions of electronic resource management. "

Contestation is a form of competition or an event of strength and superiority to defend desired interests. Contestation commonly occurs both in government and in community life in the life of the nation and state. Contestation also occurs in the implementation of the official document system between the local institution's official document system, namely SIPEDE, and the central government's official document system, namely SRIKANDI. This contestation occurred because of a clash of interests and perspectives between two different institutions. This research is qualitative research using the case study method. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with two employees at the Prosecutor's Commission and three employees at the Indonesian Prosecutor's Office. Observations were carried out by direct observation by observing, observing correspondence practices at the Prosecutor's Commission and the Attorney General's Office. The results of this research show that the transition from SIPEDE to SRIKANDI shows that contestation is a common phenomenon that appears in a large organization that is undergoing change. The existence of contestation between SRIKANDI and SIPEDE reflects power dynamics and resistance to change in public institutions. The Prosecutor's Office chose to continue using SIPEDE because they felt more confident in its effectiveness and security, even though the government had introduced SRIKANDI as a more standardized and secure system. These differences cause tensions and disputes, hampering the efficiency and effectiveness of coordination between the two institutions. This contestation slows down the communication, monitoring and evaluation processes that should run smoothly and be integrated."

"Information-hungry consumers have become accustomed to flashy commercial web sites, the lightning speed of major search engines, and a seemingly endless array of "content" at high profile sites like Amazon.com. Libraries committed to delivering online content and services in this frenzied environment need the authoritative guidance and practical know-how available in Library Web Sites."
