Freedom and body are two things that are related to one another. The body can be interpreted as an existential being as stated in the novel Un Pays Pour Mourir (2015) by Abdellah Taïa. This novel tells about the life of the main character Zahira, a Maghreb woman who migrated to Paris with her friends and worked as prostitutes. This article discusses how each character uses their bodies to get their freedom so that they are aware of their existence and can finally place themselves as subjects in their world. Based on the qualitative method, it was found that the physical element becomes the main issue in this novel as well as the main obstacle faced by the characters both from the family and society. Through the concepts of freedom and body presented by the author, awareness arises about the freedom they have over their bodies so that each character will understand their existence through the bodies they have. A person's body is often used as a tool to get that freedom, either to survive and enjoy freedom in the world, or by turning his body off to get eternal freedom or death."
