"In this study, Mark Parker proposes that literary magazines should be an object of study in their own right. He argues that magazines such as the London Magazine, Blackwood’s Edinburgh Magazine, and the New Monthly Magazine, offered an innovative and collaborative space for writers and their work, indeed, magazines became one of the preeminent literary forms of the 1820s and 1830s. Examiningthe dynamic relationship between literature and culture which evolved within this context, Literary Magazines and British Romanticism claims that writing in such a setting enters into a variety of alliances with other contributions and with ongoing institutional concernsthat give subtle inflection to its meaning. The book provides the only extended treatment of Lamb’s Elia essays, Hazlitt’s Table-Talk essays, “Noctes Ambrosianae,” and Carlyle’s Sartor Resartus in their original contexts, and should be of interest to scholars of culturaland literary studies as well as Romanticists."

"Banyuwangi pada masa kolonial di Nusantara memegang peranan penting dalam perkembangan perdagangan dan telekomunikasi antar negara jajahan Eropa. Salah satu tinggalan sejarah yang penting di Banyuwangi adalah Kompleks Inggrisan yang berperan penting dalam sejarah Banyuwangi. Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai bentuk dan gaya bangunan pada Kompleks Inggrisan serta fungsi dan peranan Kompleks Inggrisan dalam sejarah telekomunikasi Banyuwangi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis bentuk, analisis gaya, dan analisis kontekstual. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bangunan–bangunan yang terdapat pada Kompleks Inggrisan menggunakan perpaduan bentuk dan gaya antara gaya arsitektur indische empire dengan gaya arsitektur tradisional Jawa pada masa Jawa Kuno serta Kompleks Inggrisan memiliki peranan dan fungsi penting dalam sejarah telekomunikasi antara Banyuwangi dan Australia.

Banyuwangi in the colonial period in the archipelago played an important role in the development of trade and telecommunications between European colonial countries. One of the important historical remains in Banyuwangi is the English Complex which plays an important role in the history of Banyuwangi. This research will discuss the shape and style of the building in the English Complex as well as the function and role of the English Complex in the history of Banyuwangi telecommunications. The research method used in this research is qualitative research using form analysis, style analysis, and contextual analysis. The results of this study indicate that the buildings in the English Complex use a combination of shapes and styles between the Indische Empire architectural style and traditional Javanese architectural styles during the Old Javanese period and the English Complex has an important role and function in the history of Banyuwangi and Australia telecommunications."
