"Industri besi baja dikenal juga sebagai “The Mother of Industries”, karena posisinya yang strategis dan juga cakupan penggunaannya yang luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas daya saing industri besi baja dari negara-negara G20, kecuali Uni Eropa, serta melihat dimanakah posisi Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan indeks Revealed Comparative Advantage, diketahui bahwa dari 19 negara hanya 9 negara saja yang memiliki daya saing pada industri besi baja. Sedangkan, terdapat beberapa negara yang tidak memiliki daya siang dikarenakan nilai ekspor pada industri besi bajanya lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan nilai impornya, termasuk Indonesia. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi daya saing industri besi baja negara-negara G20. Dimana variabel total produksi dan tingkat konsumsi merupakan dua faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi industri besi baja secara signifikan.

The iron and steel industry is also known as "The Mother of Industries", because of its strategic position and wide range of uses. This study aims to discuss the competitiveness of the iron and steel industry from the G20 countries, except the European Union, and to see where Indonesia's position is. By using the Revealed Comparative Advantage index, it is known that out of 19 countries only 9 countries have competitiveness in the iron and steel industry. Meanwhile, there are several countries that do not have competitiveness because the export value in the iron and steel industry is smaller than the import value, including Indonesia. This study also aims to determine what factors that can affect the competitiveness of the iron and steel industry in the G20 countries. Where the variables of total production and consumption levels are two factors that can significantly affect the iron and steel industry. "

"Karena pengukuran produktivitas yang akurat dapat memberikan informasi yang berguna dalam meningkatkan daya saing, penting untuk memahami perbedaan dalam produktivitas relatif di antara negara-negara. Hal ini memungkinkan negara untuk fokus dan berspesialisasi dalam produk-produk mereka yang relatif lebih produktif. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan berbasis regresi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola dasar keunggulan komparatif, dengan industri baja Indonesia sebagai fokus analisis. Temuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa Indonesia memiliki keunggulan komparatif terkuat di industri baja di antara negara-negara ASEAN. Meskipun industri baja adalah industri ke-27 dalam peringkat nilai keunggulan komparatif dalam negeri Indonesia, ada beberapa produk yang memiliki keunggulan komparatif yang kuat dan bahkan memiliki posisi yang kuat secara internasional. Selain itu, penting untuk mengikutsertakan beberapa negara ASEAN sebagai observasi dalam mengestimasi parameter kunci produktivitas karena menghasilkan estimasi baru θ, yang masih sejalan dengan literatur yang ada.

Because accurate productivity measurements can provide useful information in enhancing competitiveness, it is important to understand the differences in the relative productivity among countries, allowing countries to focus and specialize in their relatively more productive products. Using a regression-based approach, this study aims to analyze the fundamental patterns of comparative advantage, with the Indonesian steel industry as the focus of analysis.

The major finding of this research is that Indonesia has the strongest comparative advantage in the steel industry among ASEAN countries. Even though the steel industry is the 27th industry in Indonesia’s within-country ranking of comparative advantage values, there are some products that have a strong comparative advantage and even have a strong position internationally. In addition, it is worth pointing out that taking some ASEAN countries in the observation in estimating the key parameter of productivity, while not the main focus of the paper, yields a new estimate of θ, which is still in line with the extant literature."

"Persaingan bisnis di dalam industri baja berpotensi untuk berkembang di masa yang akan datang, terutama di pasar Indonesia. Permasalaahn yang terkait dengan topik ini adalah "Apakah terdapat hubungan antara demand, harga baja HRC domestik, dan kurs dollar terhadap penjualan HRC di PT Krakatau Steel (Persero), tbk?" Penelitian ini digolongkan ke dalam penelitian ekspalantif dengan tujuan penelitian adalah sebagai penelitian murni. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat dinyatakan bahwa 17,2 persen variasi dari penjualan HRC dapat dijelaskan melalui ketiga variabel independen yang digunakan dalam persamaan regresi meskipun hubungannya lemah. Sementara sisanya sebesar 82,8 persen dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak diketahui.

Business rivalry in steel industry has been potentially growing in the future. The issue that related with the topic is "Are there any relation between demand, HRC domestic price and dollar exchange rate against HRC sales at PT Krakatau Steel Persero, tbk.?" This research is classified as an explanation research wand the purpose is pure reseacrh. The result indicates that 17.2 percent of the variations of HRC Sales can be explained by three independent variables used in the regression equation though the correlation is weak. While the rest of 82.8 percent are explained by another unknown variable."
