"Penerjemahan bukan hanyak mengenai proses pemindahan suatu teks dari satu bahasa ke bahasa lainnya, tapi ia "menerjemahkan suatu teks ke dalam bahasa lain dengan cara sebagaimana yang dimaksudkan oleh penulis dalam teks." (Newmark dalam Haque, 2012). Maka, dalam memenuhi tujuan penerjamahan, bukanlah hal yang gampang, khususnya dalam bidang sastra. Sebuah badan penerbit yang telah menerjemahkan sastra klasik ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia adalah Fiksi Lotus, dengan salah satu cerpennya Charles oleh Shirley Jakcson. Mirip dengan karyanya yang sebelumnya, Charles adalah sebuah prosa yang menawarkan akhiran cerita yang tak terduga, dan hal ini dicapai melalui foreshadowing dalam tokoh utama, yaitu Laurie. Namun, dalam terjemahannya, ada beberapa perbedaan, baik yang berupa dalam deep atau surface meaning. Oleh karena itu, sebuah kajian mengenai terjemahan cerpen Charles diperlukan, khususnya mengenai penokohan Laurie melalui ucapannya, tindakannya dan deskripsi langsung, dengan memahami arti proposisi dan ekspresif yang terkandung di dalamnya.

Translation is not only a process of transferring one text to a different language, but it is "rendering the meaning of a text into another language in the way that the author intended the text" (Newmark in Haque, 2012). In fulfilling the function of translation, then, is a difficult one, especially in the field of literary. One publisher who has translated classic literary into Indonesian is Fiksi Lotus with one of its prose "Charles" by Shirley Jackson. Similar to her other works, "Charles" is a prose which offers a twist at the end, and this is achieved with the help of foreshadowing through the main character Laurie. However, along the translation, there seems to be a difference with the source text, whether it is the deep or surface meaning. Thus, an analysis of the translation of the short story, specifically of the characterization of Laurie depicted through his speech, action, and direct description in the Indonesian version of the story Charles by understanding both the propositional and expressive meaning, is needed in order to see whether it has fulfilled the intended message which is being conveyed by the source text."

"Skripsi ini membahas motif cerita Oedipus dalam novel Bilangan Fu serta kaitannya dengan struktur novel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan interteks untuk melihat hubungan antara novel Bilangan Fu dengan cerita-cerita bermotif Oedipus serta pendekatan struktural untuk melihat unsur-unsur dalam novel tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analitis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif cerita Oedipus dalam novel Bilangan Fu mempunyai kaitan dengan struktur novel. Kaitan tersebut terlihat pada tokoh, alur, dan tema novel Bilangan Fu.

This thesis discussed about Oedipus motives in Bilangan Fu and its relation to the structure of the novel. This research uses intertextual approach to look at the relationship between the Bilangan Fu with the Oedipus stories and structural approach to see the elements in the novel. This research used descriptive analytical method. The result showed that the Oedipus motives in Bilangan Fu is related to the novel structure. The relationship is shown in the character, plot, and theme of the novel Bilangan Fu."

"Makalah ini menganalisis unsur mimikri pada cerita pendek Sayyidu As-Sāḥah karya Muhammad Zafzaf, sastrawan yang berasal dari Maroko. Penjajahan Prancis terhadap Maroko memberikan pengaruh besar dalam perkembangan karya sastra di negara tersebut. Tema karya sastra pada saat itu sebagian besar bertemakan nasionalisme dan identitas bangsa. Setelah kemerdekaan Maroko pada tahun 1956, masih banyak karya sastra yang mengangkat tema mengenai kehidupan masyarakat sebelum kemerdekaan. Muhammad Zafzaf merupakan salah satu sastrawan terkenal Maroko yang telah menerbitkan berbagai novel dan cerita pendek. Pada makalah ini, akan dilakukan analisis salah satu cerita pendek dari Muhammad Zafzaf dengan menggunakan teori postcolonialism yang dikemukakan oleh Homi K. Bhabha, yaitu mimikri untuk mengetahui jejak kolonialisme yang diceritakan dalam cerita pendek tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi pustaka. Dari penlitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat tujuh kalimat yang mengandung unsur mimikri pada cerita pendek Sayyidu As-Sāḥah yang terbagi dalam tiga kategori; transportasi, gaya hidup dan bahasa.

This paper analyzes mimicry elements in one of Moroccan writer’s short story titled Sayyidu As-Sāḥah by Muhammad Zafzaf. French colonialism in Morocco gave a huge impact on the development of its literature. At that time, the literatures are mainly focused on nationalism and national identity. After Morocco’s independence in 1956, there are still literatures that focused on telling the social life before independence. Muhammad Zafzaf is one of the famous writer in Morocco that has published numerous novels and short stories. This paper will analyze one of Muhammad Zafzaf’s short stories using mimicry theory, a part of Homi K. Bhabha’s postcolonialism theory, to retrace the colonialism elements written within the story. This paper uses qualitative descriptive method by collecting relevant sources that are related to the paper. From this research, it can be concluded that there are seven sentences containing mimicry elements in Sayyidu As-Sāḥah which were divided into three categories; transportation, lifestyle and language."

"Skripsi ini membahas novel Garis Batas: Perjalanan di Negeri-Negeri Asia Tengah karya Agustinus Wibowo sebagai novel populer bergenre perjalanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat ciri sastra populer dalam novel tersebut. Penelitian pertama-tama dilakukan terhadap unsur intrinsik novel tersebut. Setelah itu, penelitian dilanjutkan terhadap analisis ciri sastra populer dalam novel tersebut. Hasilnya, novel Garis Batas: Perjalanan di Negeri-Negeri Asia Tengah karya Agustinus Wibowo menggunakan sistem bintang pada saat ini, yaitu latar tempat. Penyampaian latar tempat dilakukan dengan cara deskripsi ekspositori. Novel ini memiliki seluruh ciri sastra populer.

The aim of this research is to observe popular novel characteristics at that novel. The first step of this research analyze intrinsic elements at that novel. Then, this research analyze popular novel characteristic at that novel. The result, Borderlines: A Journey Through Central Asia novel by Agustinus Wibowo shows the location settings as a current star system. The description of the settings are based on exposition description. This novel had all of popular novel characteristics."
