"Security comes from Latin, secures which means free from danger, fear, and threats which consist of traditional and non-traditional security approaches. Defense is defined as the main instrument of a country to create national security. National defense is defined as a dynamic condition of a country that covers all aspects of national life to deal with threats. National security encompasses the security of the state, society and individuals. There are still several definitions from several experts regarding the concepts of security and defense to date. This article analyses the forms of contemporary threats related to security and defense and explains their similarities and differences in the study of national resilience aimed at realizing a national security system and development of the national security system in other countries. This article uses a descriptive qualitative research design through literature study and interviews. This article explains that the forms of threats that occur in Indonesia include problems at the border area, SARA intolerance, inequality in bureaucratic reform, not optimal law enforcement, and transnational crime. Similarities and differences in the concepts of security and defense can be seen from the regulations, the concepts used, the institutions and the constitution. This article shows that national resilience is influenced by national defense and security. The safe condition of a country is inseparable from the security and defense factors alone but is synergized with each other factors such as economic, political, legal, social, cultural, ideological, geographic, demographic and natural resources."

"The success of South Korea in developing its country, especially after the Korean War in the 1950s, has fascinated the world. A country that was once considered poor and divided north and south after the war, turned into a country that should be respected internationally. The success of this country in carrying out social-political reforms made the policies carried out by the government succeed. Strengthening the industrial sector in its economic activities has yielded extraordinary benefits. Cultural diplomacy made by the government, make Korean culture known and liked by people in almost every part of the world. Economic increase and the appropriate policy choices, advancing the field of education and research in the country. The development of education and research makes the country's defense sector stronger. The success of the domestic defense industry to meet the needs of domestic defense equipment makes the country able to withstand threats from North Korea, even able to become an exporter of defense equipment. The purpose of this article is to see how Indonesia can learn from South Korea, especially from the social-political, economic, cultural, educational and research fields, and also defense. This was done in order to be able to improve the quality of Indonesia's human resources to support national defense. The results of this study indicate that to improve the quality of Indonesian human resources in the field of defense, Indonesia can learn not only from the South Korean defense field, but also in the fields of social politics, economics, culture, as well as education and research."

"The establishment of the “Indonesia Security Incident Response Team on Internet Infrastructure (ID-SIRTII)” is a tactical step by the Indonesian Ministry of Information and Communication to ensure the stability of national information regarding cyber protection and all forms of threats. This study explores the urgency of ID-SIRTII to prevent global cyber threats. The study found that cyber threats in Indonesia are very complex, seeing the variations of actors, motives, and targets (civil or military purpose). This complexity can be explained through the following four aspects, namely : (1) by understanding of Geometripolitic studies in cyber, there are at least two domains that can be reached, namely “the using of cyber for high-politics purposes (military)”by formulating and activating of Cyberpower to face the Global Cyber War(PSG), Wold Geometri War (PGA), and the forming of “Siber State or Siber Government”; and “the use of cyber for low-politics purposes (civil)”by the protection of civil activities in cyberspace; (2) in order to prevent the spread of national cyber crime, the implementation of the ID-SIRTII policy is integrated with the national cyber institutions; (3) in order to prevent the Global Cyber Threat, the implementation of ID-SIRTII policies needs to be strengthened and well-integrated with the regional and global cyber institutions; and (4) considering of the two “functionalism of cyber” also to form a structuralism of Indonesian National Defense and Security system in the cyber sector, nowdays Indonesia needs to build a CyberForce as a complement to the Army, Navy, and Air Force."
