"Di dalam skripsi ini akan dibahas perbedaan konsep seks dan gender perempuan. Teori yang dipakai adalah teori performatifitas gender yang dikemukakan oleh Judith Butler. Performatifitas gender menilai gender dari tindakan dan sikap seseorang di dalam memilih gendernya di dalam masyarakat. Selain membahas tentang perbedaan konsep seks dan gender, akan dianalisis pula bagaimana Shen Te, di dalam drama karya Bertolt Brecht, “Der gute Mensch von Sezuan“ keluar dari stereotipenya sebagai perempuan yang lemah.

This thesis will analyse the difference between sex and gender concepts of women. The theory which will explain this topic, is gender performativity expressed by Judith Butler. Gender performativity assess gender of one's actions and attitude in selecting his/her own gender within the community. In addition to discuss about the concept of sex and gender differences, will be also analysed how Shen Te, in the works of Bertolt Brecht's drama "Der gute Mensch von Sezuan" out of her stereotype as a weak woman."

"Jerman menerapkan kebijakan pembagian jenis lembaga pendidikan yang memiliki dua fokus berbeda: yaitu sekolah menengah yang berorientasi praktek kerja Realschule, Hauptschule dan yang berorientasi perguruan tinggi Gymansium. Lembaga Gymansium merupakan jalur prioritas bagi anak-anak Jerman untuk dapat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi. Dalam penelitian ini akan didiskusikan penggambaran ambisi tokoh orang tua terhadap Gymnasium dalam drama Frau M ller Muss Weg karya Lutz H bner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya perbedaan pandangan akan pendidikan yang dianggap ideal di antara tokoh-tokoh dalam drama. Tulisan ini membahas pula kritik yang disampaikan oleh Lutz H bner selaku pengarang terhadap pandangan akan superioritas Gymnasium. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pendekatan sosiologis Bourdieu.

Germany implements a policy on the distribution types of educational institutions that have two different focuses the work oriented secondary school Realschule, Hauptschule and the university oriented secondary school Gymansium. Gymansium is a priority path for German children in order to continue their education to university. In this research will be discussed depiction of parents rsquo ambition towards Gymnasium in the drama Frau M ller Muss Weg by Lutz H bner.

The results of the study indicate, there are two different viewpoint of what considered as ideal education among the characters in the drama. This paper also discusses the criticism of the superiority of Gymnasium presented by Lutz H bner as the author. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, with Bourdieus sociological approach. "

"Performatifitas gender adalah teori yang dikemukakan oleh Judith Butler yang menyatakan bahwa gender terbentuk dari tindakan yang ditunjukkan oleh seseorang. Skripsi ini akan menganalisis pengaruh peran Mutter Courage sebagai ibu dan sebagai pedagang dalam drama Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder karya Bertolt Brecht terhadap pembentukan gendernya. Sehingga membentuk pencitraan Mutter Courage yang menunjukkan perlawanan terhadap stereotip mengenai perempuan. Skripsi ini juga akan menganalisis paradoks dalam diri Mutter Courage, serta pengaruhnya terhadap tujuan yang ingin dicapai oleh Mutter Courage baik sebagai ibu maupun sebagai pedagang.

Gender performativity is a theory presented by Judith Butler which states that one's gender is shaped by his or her behaviours. This thesis will analyse the influence of Mutter Courage's roles both as a mother and as a merchant in the drama Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder by Bertolt Brecht to the establishment of her gender and form Mutter Courage's image that shows an opposition to stereotypes about women. This thesis will also analyse the paradox found in her behaviour and its influence to the goals Mutter Courage wants to achieve both as a mother and a merchant. "
