"Environmental crisis is in principal brought about by human activities. Therefore, it is required to exercise new approach towards the environment, that is ethical approach by which principles and moral guidance for human behaviors are put forward. This article is to describe Yusuf al-Qaraḍāwy’s thought of Islamic-ethical concept on environment, and its relevance with the handling of environmental-global crisis. His thought is based on Islamic jurisprudential and ethical values. Values of the former are the followings: planting barren land, keeping cleanliness, cultivation, and forestation, meanwhile those of the latter are the application of al-ihsān concept, being friendly with environment, destructive prohibition, justice, gratitude, and simplicity. Al-Qaraḍāwy’s concept is absolutely appropriate for the prevailing environmental-global crisis. It is hoped that Indonesian Muslims, as majority group, would like to comprehend the concept and to build consciousness of religious way of thinking towards the environment. Hopefully, this concept is workable for coping with the environmental crisis, as well."

"Tesis mi membahas tentang kepemimpman tertinggi wanita dalam perspektif Yusuf al-Qaradhawi Wanita menjadi kepala negara seperti, presiden, perdana menten atau raja. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desaindeskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kepemimpman wanita pada pemerintahan dalam konteks negara demokrasi perspektif al-Qaradhawi diperbolehkan karena kekuasaannya tidak bersifat mutlak, wilayahnya terbatas.Yang terlarang adalah kepemimpinan wamta atas keseluruhan umat Islam Al- Qaradhawi menyebutkan beberapa persyaratan bolehnya seorang wanita menjadi kepala negara, yaitu tidak direpotkan oleh urusan rumah tangga, memiliki kapabilitas, ilmu pengetahuan, kecerdasan, berusia sekitar 50 tahun-an(berpengalaman) tidak direpotkan oleh uzur kewanitaan.

This thesis attempts to analyze the woman leadership in accordance with the perspective of Yusuf Al Qaradawi position of leader such as president, prime minister, queen in the context of a democracy. This research is conducted by using descriptive method with qualitative approach to text analysis The results of the study indicate that Yusuf al Qaradawi believed that woman was prohibited to become the top leader or al zmamah a!- uzma in the context of a democracy. He did not see any verse of the Qur an and hadith which prohibits a women to occupy

the position as a leader. The posibility of a woman to become a leader for it does not belong to leadership of the highest significance of Islam Then, to occupy the

position as a leader Yusuf Al qaradawi emphasized some qualifications. Firstly, the woman is not bothered by the affairs of the household Secondly, she should have the capability knowledge and intelligence. And the last one her age is about 50 years (be experienced).
