"[ABSTRAKMakalah ini membahas tentang pelanggaran maksim dan jenis lelucon yang sering muncul dalam komik HetAfzien van 2005 Fokke & Sukke. Komik yang ditulis oleh Jean-Marc van Tol, John Reid dan Bastiaan Geleijnseini memberikan kritikan terhadap situasi politik atau sosial yang terjadi pada tahun 2005 melalui sindiran dengan cara yang humoris. Metode yang digunakan dalam makalah ini adalah metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Tujuanpenelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis pelanggaran maksim dan jenis lelucon yang sering munculpada komik Het Afzien van 2005 Fokke & Sukke. Sebagai korpus, penulis mengambil 11 karikatur yang didalamnya memuat dialog dan 7 tema tertentu yang diambil secara acak yang kemudian dianalisis denganmenggunakan teori maksim dan teori humor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa maksim cara lebih seringdilanggar dan ironie adalah jenis lelucon yang sering muncul dalam komik tersebut.

ABSTRACTThis article discusses about the types of violation of the four maximes and the types of jokes that often appear in the comic Het Afzien van 2005 Fokke & Sukke. This comic, drawn and written by Jean-Marc van Tol, John Reid and Bastiaan Geleijnse criticizes the current political and social phenomenon or issuses through the usage ofhumor. Using the qualitative and the quantitative methods, 11 dialogues of caricatures taken from 7 themes of the comic Het Afzien van 2005 Fokke & Sukke were chosen randomly and then analysed. Besides the twomethods, this paper uses also the Theory of Maxims and Humor. "Entailment adalah fenomena bahasa yang dapat ditemukan dalam percakapan sehari-hari serta teks tertulis, tidak terkecuali komik. Entailment terbentuk ketika kebenaran satu proposisi mengikuti kebenaran proposisi kedua, dan ketidakbenaran proposisi kedua secara pasti menjamin ketidakbenaran proposisi pertama. Entailment diklasifikasikan menjadi tiga, yaitu entailment satu arah, entailment dua arah, serta entailment negatif. Entailment pada umumnya adalah entailment dua arah. Artikel ini membahas entailment yang terdapat dalam komik setrip Belanda berjudul Fokke & Sukke yang diterbitkan dalam harian NRC Handelsblad pada periode bulan Februari sampai dengan bulan Mei 2022. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tipe-tipe entailment yang terdapat pada komik Fokke & Sukke, serta untuk memaparkan bagaimana proposisi membangun entailment tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa tiga tipe entailment digunakan dalam komik Fokke & Sukke. Dari delapan setrip yang ditemukan menggunakan entailment, entailment yang paling sering muncul adalah entailment satu arah; entailment tersebut muncul sebanyak empat dari delapan kali.

Entailment is a language phenomenon that can be found in daily conversations as well as written text, including comics. Entailment is formed when the truth of a proposition follows the truth of the second, and the falsity of the second proposition guarantees the falsity of the first. Entailment is classified as three types, which are two-way entailment, one-way entailment, and negative entailment. In general, it is two-way entailment that is found. This article discusses entailment which are found in a Dutch strip comics titled Fokke & Sukke, which is published by NRC Handelsblad, a daily newspaper, from the period February to May 2022. The aims of this research are to identify the types of entailment that appear in the comic Fokke & Sukke, and to explain how propositions build the entailments. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. This study found that there are three types of entailment used in the comic Fokke & Sukke. From the eight strips that are found to use entailment, the type that appeared the most is one-way entailment; this entailment appeared four out of eight times."
