"ABSTRAKGerbong khusus wanita memberikan pelaju wanita keamanan & kenyamanan daripotensi kejahatan di ruang publik. Namun, berdasarkan pengakuan beberapapelaju wanita, acap kali terjadi perilaku tidak menyenangkan. Skripsi ini bertujuanuntuk memahami perilaku pelaju wanita akibat hadirnya gerbong khusus wanita.Untuk itu dilakukan observasi kondisi gerbong khusus wanita, wawancara, sertapengumpulan data melalui kuisioner. Temuan skripsi ini mengungkapkan bahwapelaju wanita menunjukkan respon berbeda terhadap ketersediaan hal-hal yangdibutuhkan pelaju untuk bertahan terhadap pengaruh mobilitas kereta selamaperjalanan (sumber daya). Ketersediaan sumber daya ini juga dipengaruhi olehdominasi ruang akibat pembedaan gerbong berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Karena ituketersediaan sumber daya, dan dominasi ruang penting menjadi pertimbangandalam desain gerbong untuk wanita.

ABSTRACTWomen-only carriage provides women commuters a safer and comfortable feelingagainst the feared crime in public space. However, several women commutersconfess that annoying behavior frequently happened in women-only carriage. Thisthesis objective is to understand women commuters behavior that appear to be theeffect of women-only carriage present. Methods of this research are observations,interviews, and collecting datas from online questionaires. The findings show thatwomen commuters respond to the adequacy of resources around them. Theresources adequacy is influenced by the space domination as the effect of genderbasedcarriage distinction. From this findings it is clear that resources adequacyand space domination are important consideration for designing carriage forwomen."

"This paper present the encounter between two wedding traditions and cultures tha mutually reinforce the internalization of women’s status, the liturgical marriage in the church and the customary Toba Batak wedding. Both traditions originate from different worlds but are similar in their way of stereotyping and subordinating women. The commonly uses scipture in the liturgical marriage exemplifies the stereotyping of women as hersubmission to the husband as a from a submission to God. The patriarchal text is present in the usage of sinamot at customary Toba batak wedding, in other words, a payment arraged for the wedding. Many people equate sinamot with the term tuhor in boru, which literally means’s money to buy women. Women sholud not experience the treatment of dithur or the state of being purchased."
