"The article discusses Malay oral traditions and emphasizes the shamanistic aspects of these traditions. Shamans often recite mantras in the execution of their role in society. The role of the shaman, their self proclaimed knowledge, shamans and their economic activities, black magic and healthcare in Malay society are discussed, as well as the shaman?s role in Dayak ritual. Each aspect is discussed in combination with the mantra the shaman utters."

ABSTRAK Jurnal ini membahas tentang karakteristik Shamanisme Korea. Korea adalah sebuah negara yang memiliki kepercayaan tradisional Shamanisme dan terdapat banyak hal menarik yang menjadi karakteristik Shamanisme Korea. Hal-hal seperti dewa, ritual, dan bahkan mitos-mitos yang terkait dengan Shamanisme Korea membuat Shamanisme Korea memiliki karakternya sendiri. Jurnal ini berusaha menjelaskan karakteristik dan aspek-aspek yang terdapat di dalam Shamanisme Korea. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dalam menganalisis Shamanisme Korea. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat fungsi sosial-budaya Shamanisme Korea pada masyarakat Korea. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara dewa-dewa khususnya Tan?gun dan Shamanisme Korea. Shamanisme Korea memberikan dampak yang cukup besar pada masyarakat Korea baik secara religi maupun sosial budaya.
ABSTRACT This journal focuses on the characteristic in Korean Shamanism. Korea is a country that has shamanism as their folk religion and there are many interesting things that become the characteristic of Korean Shamanism. Things like gods, ritual and even myths that associated with Korean Shamanism make Korean Shamanism has their own characteristics. This journal is trying to explain the characteristic and the aspects in Korean Shamanism. The method used in this journal is qualitative method. Qualitative method is used to analyze the Korean Shamanism. In this research the Korean Shamanism has a socio-cultural function to the Korean society. The result of this study show that there are connection between the gods especially Tan?gun and the Korean Shamanism. ABSTRAKTulisan ini membahas tentang pengaruh shamanisme dalam kesenian pungmul di Korea. Pungmul atau nong rsquo;ak adalah tradisi perkusi masyarakat pedesaan di Korea Selatan. Pungmul merupakan bagian dari ritual yang dilaksanakan oleh para petani sepanjang tahun. Seiring dengan perubahan zaman, pungmul mengalami perubahan fungsi menjadi kesenian yang tujuannya untuk menghibur masyarakat. Tujuan dari tulisan ini adalah untuk memaparkan pengaruh shamanisme dalam kesenian pungmul di masa modern. Penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan, mengolah dan analisis data untuk memaparkan pengaruh shamanisme dalam kesenian pungmul. Melalui metode tersebut penulis menyimpulkan bahwa shamanisme mempengaruhi kesenian pungmul dalam warna kostum, alat musik, dan peran masyarakat dalam kesenian tersebut.
ABSTRACTThis paper discusses the influence of shamanism in pungmul music in Korea. Pungmul or nong 39 ak is a percussion tradition of rural communities in South Korea. Pungmul is part of a ritual carried out by farmers throughout the year. As time goes by, pungmul experience a change of function into a music that its aim to entertain the public. The purpose of this paper is to expose the influence of shamanism in pungmul art in modern times. The method used is descriptive qualitative method with collecting, processing and data analysis techniques to describe the influence of shamanism in pungmul music. Through this method the researcher concludes that shamanism affects the modern pungmul music in the color of costumes, musical instruments, and the role of society in its performance."
