"Penelitian ini membahas konsep city branding dan citra kota. Kedua konsep tersebut dikaitkan dengan penggunaan media sosial, khususnya twitter. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksplanatif. Responden adalah 118 mahasiswa yang ditarik secara acak sederhana pada populasi mahasiswa aktif Humas FIKOM UNPAD tahun 2011-2012. Metode analisis data dengan analisis data statistik deskriptif dan analisis regresi linier untuk membuktikan hipotesa penelitian. Untuk mencari faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi pembentukan citra kota digunakan analisis faktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan dari variabel yang diuji, yang tergolong dalam dua kategori; agen formal dan agen informal, dalam membentuk citra kota.

This study discusses the concept of city branding and image of the city. Both of these concepts associated with the use of social media, especially twitter. This research is a quantitative research, with an explanatory design. Respondents were 118 students drawn randomly on active student population PR FIKOM UNPAD 2011-2012.

Methods of data analysis are data analysis descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis to prove the research hypothesis. To search for factors that affect the formation of city image used factor analysis. The results showed a positive and significant influence of variables tested, are classified in two categories; formal and informal agents, in forming the city's image."
