"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai peran serta perkembangan civil society dalam mendorong demokrasi di Vietnam dan akan berfokus pada tuntutan demokrasi yang dikeluarkan oleh Bloc 8406. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menggunakan teori serta konsep, yakni: Democratic Centralism, dan Civil Society. Dalam menjelaskannya akan menggunakan democratic centralism sebagai perspektif dasar untuk melihat konteks demokrasi di Vietnam. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini akan menjelaskan mengenai pertumbuhan civil society pasca diterapkannya Doi Moi, serta kemuncuan aliansi pro-demokrasi Bloc 8406 yang menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagiPartai Komunis Vietnam (PKV) pada tahun 2006. Meskipun belum sampai tahap terjadinya perubahan politik di Vietnam. Namun, kemunculan Bloc 8406 ini merupakan pertanda baik bagi perkembangan jangka panjang penerapan demokrasi di Vietnam.Sehingga berdasarkan hasil temuan dari penelitian ini dapat dilihat bahwa demokrasi yang menjadi tuntutan civil society disini bukan langsung kepada hasil, melainkan sebagai suatu proses secara perlahan dalam perubahan politik menuju demokratisasi itu sendiri. Karena dalam konteks Vietnam, demokrasi dapat dilihat sebagai suatu proses adanya perubahan politik ke arah demokrasi itu sendiri.

This research discusses the role and development of civil society on encouraging

democracy in Vietnam and focused on the democratic demands issued by Bloc 8406.

Using a qualitative approach, this study uses theories and concepts, namely: Democratic

Centralism, and Civil Society. In explaining this i would used democratic centralism

theory as a basic perspective to see the context of democracy in Vietnam. Furthermore, this research would explain the growth of civil society after the implementation of Doi Moi, as well as the emergence of the pro-democracy Bloc 8406, which became a challenge for the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in 2006. Although it has not reach the stage of political change in Vietnam. However, the emergence of Bloc 8406 is a good sign for the long-term development of implementing democracy in Vietnam. So based on the findings of this study it can be seen that democracy which is demanded by civil society here is not directly to the results, but rather as a gradual process of political change towards democratization itself. Because in the context of Vietnam, democracy can be seen as a process of political change towards democracy itself."
